Seven bounty hunters who descended on the wrong car outside a Wal-Mart have been indicted on first-degree murder charges in the killing of an unarmed man and the wounding of another, Tennessee police announced Wednesday.
The charges come after a chaotic scene in Clarksville on April 23, where police said the bounty hunters shot at the four people in the sedan and chased them for seven miles.
Not one of the men in the sedan was wanted on outstanding charges.

I thought there were some archaic laws that allow them to get away with this kind of stuff.
Only if they wear blue uniforms and collect their paychecks from the state or county.
But they had good intentions, so the FBI will give them a pass (Hillary rule).
Colt Seavers would have shook his head at this.
Only if someone in the group is actually a fugitive.
Mistaken ID of innocents outside a known listed address, is all on the Bondsman or agent.
My daughter has a vehicle that is very common - a stranger even broke their key off in her door! I put a small sticker on the driver’s side window to help prevent the mistaken identity.
I’ve been thinking of something bigger on the back window. This article tells me I better get my butt in gear and do it!
The brother of a friend in college got pulled over for mistaken identity - for robbers and killers. The one guy started mouthing off to the cops (thought they were just harassing college kids). The one cop knocked the kid over the head with his baton and started beating on him bad. The brother somehow pulled the gun out of the other cop’s holster to stop the beat-down.
That’s as far as remember of the story - but somehow things got figured out pretty quickly that the cops had the wrong folks. The kid that took the gun spent some time in prison - but it wasn’t for too long iirc (a year???). His dad was a lawyer.
I thought there was a case in the 90’s, where even that was not held against them.
Some of these individuals have the look of the mentally defective.
From the article:
“Bail bondsmen are empowered to hire or act as bounty hunters to bring in people who violate the terms of jail bonds, but they can’t use deadly force unless it’s self-defense.”
Doesn’t look much like self-defense is a viable justification here.
“Some of these individuals have the look of the mentally defective. “
Some? Take a good look!
Imagine if the cops had come upon the scene, and then shot three or four of the bail bondsmen?
First of the seven to make an agreement with the prosecutor, will get a lesser charge. The rest? I think a minimum of 10 to 15 years. Hard to imagine that much prison, for something this stupid.
Did they know they were doing anything wrong?
There was one where bonding agents entered a residential address listed on the bond paper as the fugitive's domicile, and that is allowed, even if the fugitive is not there.
Doesn't matter, they broke the rules.
They were charged with murder because they intended to neutralize or kill when they fired their weapons.
Intent is the key.
I'd be very interested in hearing just whom it is in that group that you think looks "normal."
(Looks like a bunch of Gumbys to me.)
Don’t imagine prison is going to be a very welcome environment for a bounty hunter.
Surely, defense attorneys can find some Democrat Party "opposition-reseach" to find one or more "innocents" has done something wrong.
I don't care what the law says. These folks need to be removed from the earth.
