Jan to April 2017 my house increased $20,000 bank appraisal value. Coincidence?
The value of my house in IL went below mortgage balance in 2010 with Obama destroying jobs. I left IL in 2013 for a job in GA. Fed regulations punish banks who do short sales in my situation. But suddenly Jan to April the bank appraisal value of my house jumped $20,000. I just closed by selling $4,000 over mortgage balance ... but still $30,000 less than what I paid for it in 2003. I had paid down $34,000 of my purchase price. But the glass is only half full. Dodd-Frank makes it impossible for my to cash/deposit in a bank, my $4,000 check. But finally I found a banker ignorant of the law and was able to bank it. We are in a protracted conflict. We are excited over the win of each fire fight. But this war has a long way to go.
