President Donald Trump hopped onto Twitter Friday morning to fight back against media criticism, suggesting his surrogates cannot be accurate all the time because he is an "active president."

In a series of tweets, Trump said the "fake media is working overtime today" and wondered if he should cancel all future press briefings in the name of accuracy. Trump is taking criticism for conflicting narratives coming out of the White House over the dismissal of FBI Director James Comey.

He later tweeted that Comey should hope there were no tapes of their private conversations "before he starts leaking to the press."

"The Fake Media is working overtime today!"

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 12, 2017

"As a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with perfect accuracy!…."

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 12, 2017

"…Maybe the best thing to do would be to cancel all future "press briefings" and hand out written responses for the sake of accuracy???"

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 12, 2017

"James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!"

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 12, 2017

UPDATE 8:28 A.M.: This article was updated to include Trump's tweet about James Comey.

I would answer your original question, but it seems you may not understand the answer.

our government has been working so well for us. I understand that real well thanks. Washington needs to be bulldozed, not have its d@&$ s&@/ed

LOL. As I said, you live in a fantasy land where an omnipotent President can do whatever he wants. Read the Constitution and become better informed on how our government operates. Trump must deal with reality. He has done a fantastic job, but there are limits on what he can achieve alone. He needs help from the Reps and Congress as a whole.

Wowsers!

Complete lack of knowledge on how our government works, no understanding of the United States Constitution - including the limitations placed on the office of the President, all tied in a neat bow with anarchist tendencies.

Are you sure you're in the right website?

yes, Congress will save us. At the inauguration, they should have had a desk set up to start signing those executive orders. Take the hand off the Bible and start signing. Not tweet like Katy Perry

Before exposing yourself yet again as an ignoramus, try reading this:

The Constitution of the United States

You'll actually learn something.

Good! You’re starting to think. We don’t have all three branches. What we have currently is a President and a UniParty that controls the Legislature. It’s going to take *years* to turn this ship around, Veruca.

So try to be patient.

And as for the media, we let Trump smack them around. Why? Because George W Bush’s way did not work.

Guess what, Veruca? Trump can multitask.

You have a serious mental problem that should be addressed immediately. You never responded to my question as to how old your are.

The issue is not whether Congress will save us or not. It is Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution, which defines the powers of Congress. The President swears an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. This is called reality.

I have lived long enough to be disappointed by politicians. Trump can get going but each day wasted without a brick mortared into place is a day wasted. Wall.

The bids for the wall are being received and evaluated. Site acquisition will be the next phase, as there will be no doubt legal challenges and possible need for eminent domain to build portions of the wall. There will also be requirements for environmental impact statements.

Having been involved in major government construction projects, I understand the process and the time needed to complete them. That said, the money in the budget supplemental contained $1.5 billion in new border security funding and spending to repair infrastructure and improve technology.

White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney later clarified during a press briefing that the funds allocated for border protection included “hundreds of millions of dollars” that would be used to “replace fencing with 20-foot steel walls.”

“We can build this, and we’re going to build this,” Mulvaney said, pointing to pictures behind him of parts of existing border fencing.

Trump will build the wall. Simple as that. He is committed to doing it. We are only four months into this administration.

POTUS should select questions by asking: “Which of you wrote this fake report? Identify yourself and I will answer your question.” Next selection: “Who’s nightly anchor had this hilarious breakdown, live on federal airwaves? Raise your hand and I will take a question.” Next: “Who reported this doozy? Answer - 85% of you losers. Back to winning. Out.”
