Harvard officials say Obasi Shaw is the first student in the university’s history to submit a rap album as a senior thesis in the English department.
Shaw is from an Atlanta suburb and describes his album as a moody take on what it means to be black in America.
Rap and hip-hop have drawn growing academic interest from colleges, some of which now offer minors in hip-hop studies.

I am almost down with this. If I am reading it correctly, this is a “senior thesis” for a four-year degree, not anything higher. I can see an entire album being equal to a term paper. If it’s well-written and not like disco or somesuch.

IF you’re a young person and really wanna make some bucks? Can you learn to weld? Do it. Get into the oil/gas business and within a few years, you’ll make more money than these stupid, low-low-acheiving punks will make in a lifetime. Have a good attitude and work ethic. Learn everything you can about the business. You do NOT need a Harvard degree, or any degree, to make it.....IF you got the right focus, ambition and proper attitude.
