Assange explained his position on this when interviewd for the Fox network. Wikileaks entire basis for existance is based upon never revealing its sources directly. As soon as it does that, it no longer exists as a viable trustworthy leaking outlet.
I just don’t buy that when the possible source in question has been murdered. If Rich was a source, then Assange is withholding critical information as to motive in a murder case.
Those still acting as sources for Wikileaks might like to know if they were ever murdered for having supplied info to Wikileaks, that Wikileaks would help find their murderer.

Exactly. Assange will not betray the core commitments of Wikileaks; he more than anyone understands the fallout that would ensue.
At the same time, Assange has identified Seth Rich as a source beyond the shadow of a doubt. It was a fine needle to thread, and JA did it incredibly well.
We’ll see where it all ends up. The Swamp will do whatever it takes to sabotage the efforts to find the killer/killers. It may not be enough this time.
I think that by offering a reward for information about Seth Rich’s killer, Assange is signaling that Rich was one of his suppliers of information. He can’t name him outright, but why else would he be so concerned about the killing?
It’s a one-hundred percent certainty that Wikileaks wouldn’t offer a reward to solve a random shooting that had nothing to do with leaking information to Assange & co.
Before this is over the MSM will have Seth Rich being assasinated by the Russians. Go ahead, call me crazy.

No problem a lot of us are working really hard on this.
You never know one of these crimes the left just might get some jail time.Murdering a guy and then making the police go in and finish the job should get the attention of someone.

Nothing further will be done on the murder case unless Assange provides proof that Rich was a source for Wikileaks, or in the very unlikely event that someone else comes forward with hard evidence.
There are people who don't want this murder to be investigated further and it's obvious that what Assange has done so far is too inspecific to cause anyone to reopen the case. I do not buy it that Assange cannot provide information, yes or no, about a murder victim and that it would cause any harm to Wikileaks.
And the Dims and the media will continue to blame the DNC leaks on the Russians to harm Trump.
Which is why he implicated Seth without specifically stating he was the source. Wikileaks has issued a cash reward for information leading to discovering his murderer. You think anyone gets justice in a world dominated by deep state cronies ? The rape charges againt Assange were recently dropped btw.

I just believe that the only thing at present that would force more investigation into Seth Rich’s murder would be proof from Wikileaks that Rich was a source for them.
Probably too many around DC who want this case to go away for any lesser information to reopen it, unless something really unexpected comes to light.
The ball is in Assange’s court and it might just roll to a stop there.
Therefore, everyone connected to him must already be dead and Wikileaks should make it a point to spill everything. There are no Deep State spooks who have the capability of using the smallest bit of information. You have complete knowledge of all aspects of the situation.
