From where do you get your analysis that:
a) neutron bombs are available?
b) that conventional nukes up to 100kt would not harm the South?
c) fallout paths comply with your long term weather forecasts?
d) we could drop enough nukes fast enough to cover a 160 mile border?

b) I was, of course, positing that the U.S. would be judicious in its deployment of "ordinary" atomic bombs (take into account current wind, etc.) so as to minimize fall-out. Of course, some radiation would be present, but you can't make an omelette...
c) I'm seeing a pattern here: You are "demanding perfection."
d) No, I am not privy to classified data about how quickly we could pulverize a 160-mile-long border. I am merely assuming that it could be done.

That's the beauty of the Neutron Bomb - it has a very circumscribed action radius. That's why it was developed.

It's not the threat they pose today. From the article:

Ok, since you are a speculator and I’m a former nuclear weapons specialist, I will assert the following.
1- The U.S. has no neutron bombs and they would be a poor choice since it is the North’s weapons infrastructure we want destroyed.
2-We wouldn’t be undetected long enough to drop them fast enough, to preclude a significant strike on the South.
3-Any worthwhile strike would indeed inflict collateral damage on the South, via EMP and fallout.
4-There’s a reason our most hawkish military leaders have stated there are no good military solutions.
Only on college campuses and the editorial board of the WAPO. Start with the Norks forcing their way into the Nuke Club, the UN resolutions they ignore, and the threats they issue on a weekly, if not daily basis...the US has all the moral and legal authority needed.
Let's not forget also...the US and the Norks are still in a state of war.
