The gradual evacuation should have begun decades ago.
“You dont assembled armada that size without using it.”
I hope and pray you are wrong, but the buildup isn’t just for show. Something is in the works. I suspect the armada is going to be there as a ‘just in case’ things go terribly wrong.

That remains to be seen. It’s hard to know what other preparations are being made. The USN would often push a second carrier into theater in past confrontations (when we had more carriers). A third would sometimes go forward to maintain presence and to allow the 1st carrier on station to return home. If I’m not mistaken the 1st or 2nd carrier to reach Korean waters was diverted there, so she had already been at sea for some period.
Speculation is not news. It’s propaganda.
Yeah that helps a lot. Next time just publish the battle plans
The Chinese should be part of the equation, but they’re only mentioned once here.
I was stationed in Korea from ‘95-’98. Chusok is the Korean autumn holiday, kind of a mix of our Thanksgiving and Memorial Day when a lot of Koreans return to their native villages. At the beginning of Chusok, the highways out of Seoul essentially become jammed parking lots...and that’s for a holiday, not a panicked evacuation.
And it would most likely be greatly appreciated by the people of North Korea...
the Norks pose zero threat to America. Let the Japanese and South Koreans deal with their backyard. The RoK has a GDP 81 times bigger than the Norks.
not our fight
stop squandering our blood and treasure on foreign adventures
we need to spend our energies on rebuilding our country
If Seoul is evacuated, then there will be war.
N. Korea in the winter is not a nice place.

Well, the problem is South Korea is no longer the only country at risk... The NK's now have missile tech and nuclear capabilities, so the game takes on a whole new prospective....
I am not so sure that Seoul would be devastated if the Kim regime was wiped out decisively. Without Kim’s leadership, it is possible everything else would fold, but it would have to be a complete destruction of the Kim regime instantly.
Oh great. Here’s a guy that has had connections with our government going public about his theory of what the military will do based solely on what he surmises. He’s an author just like Nancy Reagan’s tea leavers and crystal ball. The sky is not falling.

maro: Too bad we stopped work on neutron bombs.
The Neutron Bomb is alive and well!
Even "ordinary" nuclear ordnance (at least, up to 100 kt) could be deployed in N. Korea without significant risk to our boys in the South. That's not even considering the use of air-bursts.
Any further objections?
Regards,
When, if ever, did the U.S.N. have more aircraft carriers than at present (10)? Alright, before the deactivation of the USS Enterprise, we had eleven. But before that?
Regards,
Seoul has huge network of underground malls interconnected by a massive subway system. Did they build anything else useful if under military assault? Additional ways out of the city while remaining under cover?
Bullfeathers.
UN just passed sanctions.
Pitiful, yes but before starting WWIII,we’ll give China more time to see if they can turn this nutjob.
Once a ground war starts do you think the Chinese are going to let someone else control NK territory?
Just like the early 1950’s China will get pulled into it.
Not good.
Army’s amphibious forces? I think you mean mother green and her fighting US Marines
Maybe we will, maybe we won’t. Now that’s a safe prediction.
Taking out Kim Jung-un in a decapitating strike might be the best way to quickly end things. His generals might quickly lose the will to confront an American armada if the fear from being executed by the dictator was gone
