Drug overdose is now the leading cause of death for Americans under the age of 50, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said Tuesday morning. Rosenstein, along with acting head of the Drug Enforcement Agency, Chuck Rosenberg, and other prominent officials in law enforcement addressed the media at the DEAs headquarters in Arlington, VA to discuss the ongoing response to the nations staggering opioid epidemic.
Were not talking about a slight increase. Theres a horrifying surge of drug overdoses in the United States of America. Some people say we should be more permissive, more tolerant, more understanding about drug use. I say we should be more honest and forthcoming with the American people on the clear and present danger that we know face, opened Rosenstein.
Fentanyl is especially dangerous. It is 40 to 50 times more deadly than heroin. Just two milligrams, a few grains of salt, an amount you could fit on the tip of your finger, can be lethal. Fentanyl exposure can injure or kill innocent law enforcement officers and first responders. Inhaling a few airborne particles can have dramatic effects, he continued.

Glad the pharma corp that makes Roxy’s paid 600 million bucks for lying about the addiction potential of their drug.

Mexican heroin cut with fent. Close the border.
This can be remedied simply by placing the amount of pills allotted for a single day in a separate container, and not exceeding that allotment!
Overdoses occur BECAUSE pain meds can seriously affect SHORT TERM MEMORY and many users simply forget they just took a pill and take ANOTHER one. This is why it's very important to not take pills from the main bottle. ALWAYS SET ASIDE A FIXED AMOUNT IN A SEPARATE CONTAINER AND TAKE NO MORE THAN WHAT IS IN THAT CONTAINER FOR THE DAY.
Read your local obits regularly? In my neck of the woods there’s been a big uptick in the number of 20 to 50-somethings who have “passed away unexpectedly”. Turns out many, if not most, of those are ODs.
admittedly no I do not. But all the guys I work with 50 or so are all in the range of late 30s to late 60s... the older ones have some med probls but none have OD’d as im aware...

I’m OK with that. Everytime I go to a store, it is evident that the herd needs to be culled.
Legalize elicit drugs! /Heavy S
I asked a local cop friend what his thoughts were on the heroin issue with all the OD’s, he said they should find out who the dealers are and get them to lower the price!

Drug use is a BEHAVIOR. Don’t treat it as a disease and put your hand in MY pocket to support those who do it.
1) Abolish the unconstitutional and deadly FDA. The Constitution gives the feds NO authority to meddle with food and drugs.
2) Food and drugs are individual, local, and state issues. Best is to let the free market educate people and sort out the good from the bad. People care much more about themselves than some distant bureaucrat. Governments have their own interests and agenda and lie to further their own purposes. A free people in the free market economy will generally sort out the truth from the lie.
Wonder which of obama pals is making money from these drugs? Afghanistan?
When someone not the parent of a minor kills themselves with fentanyl, who have they made a victim?
In before the "Fentanyl should be legal and allowed to be sold on the street" remarks by liberaltarian FReepers.
