Even if Comey made memos from his notes, he would have to save the original notes. I hope that there are tapes from Trump Tower. I think that New York is a single knowledge state. Better yet, perhaps there are CIA tapes made trying to catch the president-elect in something. Having CIA tapes show that Comey is lying would be such poetic justice.

Then his reputation took a hit over the whole incident where he lied to VP Pence about his prior contact with the Russians, but lying to the VP wasn't a crime and surely wouldn't have warranted any scrutiny by the FBI.
Flynn's situation didn't really become problematic from a formal/legal standpoint until March, when questions began to surface about his work for foreign governments while he was being considered for his Trump administration post.
