I guess I’m a “Millennial,” in many ways.
Oh, come on. They’re buying porn, LOL!
It’s just another cycle. I’m at the tail-end of the Boomers (born, 1960) I came of age during the Carter Administration. My folks were paying 17% for a mortgage on our 3 bedroom, 1 bath house. There was hardly any gasoline to be found, and when you COULD get it, you had to wait in line! (Something Millennials would balk at, LOL!) The only jobs available were in Retail or Fast food. Construction and Manufacturing jobs were at an all-time low, much like today.
I joined the Army to get my education paid for as my folks couldn’t afford to send me to college - even WITH scholarships I had earned. (As things turned around, thanks to President Reagan, my folks COULD afford to send my younger sister to college...where she was brainwashed into becoming a Liberal. *Rolleyes*
Seriously, we are at the beginning of another cycle of PROSPERITY and President Trump is going to ride the wave, and the Millennials will be dragged along with us.
Keep the Faith, Baby! MAGA! :)
Worst economic conditions in my lifetime during Obama. Why is anyone surprised our economy is still cratering after 8 years?
People most likely can get porn for free, just like movies, bootlegging from the Internet.
Red Guards!
I understand the part about the economy, the government, and the financial industry (((The Fed))) have made it impossible to save. I do get that.
Millennials are absolutely the worst generation EVER. I can not stand to be in the presence of just one of them.
I’m not that old myself (46), and I thought my generation (Gen X) was pathetic when they were young, but these twentysomethings today are just awful people.
Probably not even visiting JOE AND MABEL’S COUNTRY BAR AND GRILL!
.....If they’re going to spend on a nice dinner, it is more likely to be at an independent restaurant that can provide a special experience than at the predictable Applebee’s or Buffalo Wild Wings.....
That is and always was a good idea!!!! It’s real populism in action!
Support local, independent restaurants, retail stores, manufacturers, artists, etc. etc.
If a restaurant is making bad tasting, over-priced food, they shouldn’t be trying to find fault with the customer for not wanting to buy it. The last time I had applebees (won a gc) they were microwaving their food packets even back then.
The article says boomers focused on short term rewards and Millies want to experience it now. I don’t see the difference.
I guess I’m a millennial then. I don’t buy most of those things either.
Except I do like nice linen napkins (not paper). And I already have a home.
I don’t buy much really... I have enough stuff. People who are older than millennials who have reached peak stuff have stopped buying a lot of things
I love me some Buffalo Wild Wings. I spent a couple evenings there with Chris Sabo from the Cincinnati Reds. We had a good time. He had about .01 percent Body fat, lol. My neighbor brought me some hot wings from Dayton, Ohio last weekend, the best I’ve ever eaten.
Buffalo Wild Wings and Applebee’s are disgusting. I never eat there either. Most such food chains are repulsive and serve crap, like Olive Garden, which just microwaves frozen dinners.
Huh? Why would a 25-year old buy napkins, when mommy has them, and Chipotle and Starbucks let you take as many as you like for free?
They'll avoid paying full price for clothing, something that is wreaking havoc on retailers like Macy's and Sears.
Um...AMAZON.com....hello? Not just millennials!
They'll avoid investing in the stock market, having seen how investments can go wrong.
Um...stock market at all-time highs, clearly not missing millennial bucks.
what constitutes full price? there is no such retail condition
I just want ‘em all to get off my lawn.
Millennials can be summed up as kids who had no parents, because they were daycare raised. They are economically and policy ignorant because things were always given to them and they never experienced loss due to bad decisions. They have no money, because they only have the skills to work retail and they are paying for $150,000 student loans.Because they are broke, they live with a sense of deprivation, which is why they are open to socialism,
Their parents, the baby boomers, are going to completely devastate their children economically because the baby boomers are afraid of Healthcare costs as they get older.
I don’t eat out much, and when I do, it’s usually at Denny’s.
I’m killing businesses, too, and I’m Gen X. WHERE’S MY CREDIT???
