An eyewitness this AM identified it as an AK47 having curved mag and was clear that he did not hear auto fire. He called it a Kalashnikov and his terminology indicated military training.
An SKS is combat effective.Same round as an AK47,powerful enough to kill easily.

7.62x39 blows bricks and stone up, but it’s an awful battlefield round.
SKS is a great 100 yard gun....had a Chinese made one years ago....1/2MOA at 100yards......
