Trump breaks campaign promise to deport Dreamers

The Homeland Security Department announced on Thursday that it would keep in place the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy, allowing undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children to remain in the country.

The decision breaks a key campaign promise by Trump to "immediately terminate" the DACA program and stands at odds with the president's vows to crackdown on illegal immigration.

In an announcement posted on the DHS website Thursday night, the department said that the memo that created DACA "will remain in effect." A fact sheet posted along with the announcement reaffirmed that the program's original provisions would remain in place.

"DACA recipients will continue to be eligible as outlined in the June 15, 2012, memorandum. DACA recipients who were issued three-year extensions before the district court’s injunction will not be affected, and will be eligible to seek a two-year extension upon their expiration," the fact sheet reads. "No work permits will be terminated prior to their current expiration dates."

The program impacts about 800,000 people in the U.S., and while Trump has suggested since taking office that he would not seek to deport DACA recipients, the DHS decision on Thursday quells concerns that the administration could do away with the policy.

Obama created this program with the stroke of a pen. It can be ended that way as well.

***

And the consequences of that penstroke?

Have you thought of those?

Just because it doesn’t require a vote doesn’t mean that it won’t affect votes down the line.

How much are you willing to give up for this comparatively tiny program?

Obamacare repeal?
Tax reform?
Judge appointments?
Conservative Supreme Court justices?

Actually he’s not deporting lots and lots. Obamas DHS deported far more before he stopped them his last two years. They are only now trying to catch the criminal aliens. Very very few other aliens, the ones that use all the taxpayer funded services like schools, freeways, public aid, welfare, are being deported. Look at the stats not the propaganda. Read the anti illegal sites like, FAIR, Numbers USA, americans for immigration reform, etc.

The decision not to keep the campaign promise on DACA will cost.

DACA doesn’t apply to those born and raised here, who for now at least are considered constitutionally citizens by birth.

And I’m not even fine with such anchor babies. It is yet another perversion of the Constitution to see them as automatic citizens.

You are either a Trump hater or you missed that he rescinded DAPA (no amnesty for illegal parents):

I didn't miss anything. This story is about DACA, not DAPA.

Trump did not “Lie”.

Trump said next to nothing on DACA, said some cases were hard, but railed against the illegal invasion occurring on our southern border and collapse of law and border security, essentially open borders under the Obama regime who was hell bent to “fundamentally transform America”.

“If he can’t do it then why did he say it?”

You are right up there with the MSM...dishonest. He was very clear about these people for the past year. But you are going to make an issue out of nothing for your own reasons.

Stop Lying!!!

“Your “ancestor” came from another country too. So what? I am not an immigrant. I am a natural born citizen, over 70% of Americans are not immigrants, with the right to say who comes in and who does not.”

You invited the dead guy into the conversation. I politely welcomed him. It is a Southern thing.

He didnt do it on his own. The federal court gave him until today to defend this program which he declined to so they just revoked the illegal policy. Since DACA has not been attacked in court you dont see Kelly revoking that illegal amnesty, do you?

CHUCK TODD: You’ll rescind the DREAM Act - executive order for DACA?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: You’re going to have to. We have to make a whole new set of standards. And when people come in, they have to come in...

Show me where the lie is. All I offered was a quote.

Azz hats everywhere today. You sound like a racist wanting to bullying Trump supporters. You can’t deliver a single source or quotation that Trump ever said that he was after the DACA kids for permanent exile.

Hope you realize that prior to Obama the old Mexican population was never despised, anyway. Dunno what tomato truck you’re clinging onto, but no one thought Trump should toss kids in college, who know no other country but this one, here, through no fault of their own.

For the sake of argument on FR, they said so maybe, but they were never against the DACA kids, but only the open border invasion.

No one. Except for a few redneck racists.

And what experience does Ivanka bring to the table with respect to foreign policy, the military, immigration, etc.? She was saying last week how she cannot believe how ruthless and despicable the media is. We all saw this throughout all of 2016 the low depths that the media and the enemy will stoop to. That is not a statement that I want to hear from the president’s advisor, no matter who the president is. Trump would be better served having a hard ass like Gingrich who can beat back the media and the opposition with lightning swiftness.

Bull $^-+. Go vote for Kamala Harris, in 2020, or stay home?

Not a chance, champ.

No one is going to trade a few college kids off for Kamala Harris. No American patriot, that is. Neanderthals maybe, but no American will trade Trump for Harris.

Use your head. Embarrassing Oklahoma.
