Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg: Company Has a Responsibility to Foster ‘Kindness and Empathy’ . . . to the ‘left’ kind of people. Christians, Jews and those of the ‘right’ persuasion need not expect anything short of the usual vilification.
The entire “Progressive” (Yes, that’s what they call themselves, but they actually rejected the philosophical foundations of the “Progressive” movement, which REJECTED socialism; but “progressives today do not) camp as morphed EVERY aspect of the term “tolerance” to try to make it indistinguishable from “acceptance”.
They - tolerance and acceptance - are not intrinsically synonyms.
Now they have extended that confusion of thought to “empathy”, which again they want to use to mean acceptance as well.
Tolerance can mean no more than tolerating the fact that you and someone else do not agree. It provides no de facto acceptance of the other’s position. At best it is agreement to disagree. But that is NOT what Progressives want. They want those who disagree with their social agenda to accept the values of that social agenda, whether they agree or not.
No they are trying to use empathy the same way, and register their opponents as “bad people” without “empathy”.
Yet empathy - understanding the shoes someone else is walking in - is NOT agreement as to WHY they are in those shoes or what ought to be done so they can walk in better shoes. But, that is not want “Progressives” want. They do not want mere understanding of someone’s situation, they want acceptance of that persons own belief as to why they are in that situation, without any critical thinking that could result in the position that the persons belief about their situation is wrong. Again, “empathy” is morphed to also mean “acceptance” of someone in a different position than you AND that persons BELIEF for why they are in that position AND agreement with what Progressives think will help change that persons situation.
“Tolerance” and “Empathy” have become Progressives code words for acceptance of Progressive positions, and because their natural meaning registers those without “tolerance” or “empathy” as “bad”, the terms are used to paint those simply not in agreement with Progressives as “bad”.
Bullplop.
I have gone directly to Facebook management and waived evidence of crimes happening on their site, right under their noses.
They could not have cared less. At least not as long as the checks continue to clear. They are horrible, horrible people.
Let’s see what Sheryl says if layoffs of Facebook employees are ever necessary. Do you think the executives and managers will take big pay cuts to avoid layoffs, or will cull their own ranks first?
