Robert Mueller Adopts Stalinist Tactics
American Thinker.com ^ | June 23, 2017 | Daniel John Sobieski

We may be thankful to Alan Dershowitz, Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law, Emeritus, at Harvard Law School, for reminding us of the delicious irony of an investigation which began with “reports” of collusion with the Russians by Team Trump and charges of Russian hacking of our elections, now reverting to the tactics of Russia’s most murderous tyrant, Josef Stalin. As Dershowitz writes in the Washington Examiner:

Special counsel Robert Mueller was commissioned to investigate not only crime but the entire Russian "matter." That is an ominous development that endangers the civil liberties of all Americans.

Federal prosecutors generally begin by identifying specific crimes that may have been committed -- in this case, violation of federal statutes. But no one has yet identified the specific statute or statutes that constrain Mueller's investigation of the Russian matter. It is not a violation of any federal law for a campaign to have collaborated with a foreign government to help elect their candidate…

One does not have to go back to the Soviet Union and Lavrentiy Beria's infamous boast to Stalin, "Show me the man and I will show you the crime," in order to be concerned about the expansion of elastic criminal statutes. There are enough examples of abuse in our own history.

From McCarthyism to the failed prosecutions of Sen. Ted Stevens, Rep. Thomas DeLay, Gov. Rick Perry and others, we have seen vague criminal statutes stretched in an effort to criminalize political differences.

Indeed, now we here reports that Mueller’s investigation will range anywhere from Jared Kutchner’s finances to perhaps any unpaid parking tickets Sean Spicer may have.

They tried Scooter Libby in Washington D.C.

They jury foreman laid out extensive diagrams and charts "proving" Libby's guilt.

(I believe that foreman was a Democrat plant and was coached by lefties)

The dumb jurists swallowed the presentation and convicted Libby.

It was a travesty of the highest order, akin to Tom DeLay's indictment, Newt Gingrich's fine for teaching a History Class (he's a History Professor), Clinton's Impeachment "exoneration" and Hillary's "no prosecutor would ever indict."

Many many travesties, all favoring Democrats and/or harming Republicans.

They will try to get a Wash. D.C. jury to indict somebody in the Trump organization and the whole thing will repeat.

He is a lib.

But his "god" is the law.

And what they are doing is desecrating his "god".

“Special counsel Robert Mueller was commissioned to investigate not only crime but the entire Russian ‘matter.’”

So, what’s the matter? It’s depends on which matter matters. Mueller’s investigation should rightly wind up finding evidence of criminal activity in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s e-mail “matter.” Anything less would be a crime.

Immediately after the election, President Trump said his administration would not pursue further investigations of Hillary Clinton, backing off a vow on the campaign trail to appoint a special counsel to probe his Democratic rival.

“I don’t want to hurt the Clintons, I really don’t,” Mr. Trump said in an interview with the New York Times. “She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways.”

But Democrats in the Deep State bureacracy, those still standing in Congress, and their allies in the media were determined to hurt President Trump and make HIM suffer for the crime of winning the Presidency. To them, Resistance=Progress.

The Democrats bet the farm on the Russia tale, only to have witnesses exonerate President Trump at every turn. Now the Russia tale is going to be pinned on the ass of the Donkey, where there is overwhelming evidence (so far suppressed by FBI Director Comey, Attorney Generals Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder, and President Barack Obama) that it rightly belonged all along.

“Dershowitz has that Epstein thing hanging over his head.”

Umm, you mean that “thing” where Dershowitz produced hard proof that the allegations were impossible and the lawyers who accused him were forced to admit the accusation was bogus in court?

Bingo! My concern now is that so much fake news has been flogged about “Russia,” people will tune out if/when it is revealed that the true culprits were Hillary and Ukraine.

Mueller is designated a “Special Counsel” and does not have the authority of a “Special Prosecutor”. A wide disparity that we must keep in mind.

What is the distinction? Sorry, I don't understand.

Is it possible to appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate Mueller?

I have spent of my adult life disliking Dershowitz AND everything he said and stood for.
Now a problem....I find myself agreeing with manyof things he has been saying of late, and I find myself looking a the man quite differently. Ad I am a little uncomfortable with it.
I begin to wonder if I have been unfair to the man, even if I still loathe to admit I misjudged him.

That means he should be able to get the DNC to hand over their servers. That is the root of this entire farce.

Maybe he likes how President Trump is Pro-Israel unlike the past POS in the WH?

A counselor advises as to his investigation; no force of law.

A prosecutor provides findings of an investigation and has direct input as to violation of laws.

Dershowitz paid a visit to that island with teenage girls. I am thinking he wants Trump to forget about it.

You folks will learn that rules, laws and nothing else applies when lawyers are after non lawyers. Trump is really an outsider even in the Republican Party and they are afraid of what he will expose. The actions of the legal system under Obama showed all of this. Fast and Furious Benghazi,Libya just go back to Randy Weaver and Waco. Wake up America.
I have no ties to any group, movement or anything like that. I have been to a couple of Klan Rally’s as a Policeman in uniform years back and that is as close as I have come. But I have never seen anything like what is happening today in over 30 years of policing. I do not know who is in charge of our intelligence services but I know something is very bad wrong.

Sadly, the country you served and I served has turned into end times as Revelations has been going on for 15-20 years or so. These idiot leftists have thrown Christianity out and allowed Muslims in. Our founding fathers are rolling over in their graves. We can only get right with the Lord.
