Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and his wife, Jane Sanders have hired prominent defense attorneys, amid an FBI investigation into a loan Jane Sanders obtained to expand Burlington College while she was its president, CBS News confirms.
Politico Magazine first reported the Sanders had hired lawyers to defend them in the probe. Sanders top adviser Jeff Weaver told CBS News the couple has sought legal protection over federal agents' allegations from a January 2016 complaint accusing then-President of Burlington College, Ms. Sanders, of distorting donor levels in a 2010 loan application for $10 million from People's United Bank to purchase 33 acres of land for the institution.
According to Politico, prosecutors might also be looking into allegations that Sen. Sanders' office inappropriately urged the bank to approve the loan.

Really, it’s the whole shootin’ match. Obama was king Democrat fraud for 8 years. The Clinton Foundation is an obvious fraud where about 10% goes to victims; the real victims are those who donate. Well, except for foreign countries and companies who donated for favors from Hillary.

Really? That would be really sad. When we used to get loans, it was ridiculous how much the bank said we were eligible to borrow. And we were completely factual on our application.
Fortunately, they don't get many referrals for prosecutions as to mortgage fraud unless it's a huge scam with a bunch of falsified documents, straw buyers, inflated purchase prices where a bunch of money gets kicked back, etc. Developers and builders can get into hot water, too, if they draw money on loans for expenses not related to the project they said they were borrowing. There was a developer in St. Louis years ago that had drown like 80% of the money from his loan and when they went to look at the progress it was like 30% complete. He'd spent it on other stuff. In the Sanders deal, the loss is apparently so huge, they are taking a look at it. You will also see them prosecute people at Universities for falsifying applications for research grants and such. It doesn't get a lot of press, but it happens.
It is my fondest hope that Jane and Bernie have to sell all three of their Dacha’s to pay for their expensive lawyers, $1000 and hour on up. Of course an old Socialist like Bernie probably feels someone else should pay. Too bad he didn’t include Legal Fees in his deal with Hillary for the $800,000 Dollar Dacha on the lake in Vermont.

This would be an ethics violation for which Bernie Sanders could be censured by the U.S. Senate and possibly impeached and removed.

My neighbor, who unfortunately is a huge liberal, was incensed when she found out we came here without jobs and didn’t plan on getting any. We are living off investments and going Galt, not contributing to the socialist government. Although that has changed now with Trump in office…
Anyway she said we needed to work so we could pay into Social Security and then she name several people in the holler that needed it.
