It all sounds so schoolyard but that's what we are dealing with here. It has been proven time and time again that taking the high road with these clowns is not an effective tactic.
Even eight years after leaving office, GWB is still seen as a weak, ineffectual and even stupid president. That is because he allowed the Democrats to define him as such. He is not respected and he's a pathetic laughingstock even among us here on Free Republic (to wit, the "Bush's fault" meme).
Mitt Romney took the high road and he had his head handed to him. He tried to "play nice" with the Democrat opposition but the debate moderators still savaged him and the media made sure that everybody in the country knew that he once strapped his dog to the top of his car during a vacation.
Ditto with John McCain. He was the "darling" of the Democrats until the general election, in which he was treated like the "extremist conservative" that he was of course wasn't. Now he's their darling again because he doesn't pose a threat. McCain is such a cuckold for allowing himself to be used like that.
I could write a whole chapter on how Sarah Palin was destroyed by the liberal media.
I can go on and on.
Fact is, we finally have a Republican who smashed these people in the mouth. His reward was to get elected president and the way things are going, we are looking at a landslide in 2020 because the regular folks between the coasts are absolutely loving what they are seeing.
I think he's going in for the reputational kill shot. The image of two middle aged people crashing a New Years Eve celebration while one is wearing bloody bandages is too hilarious. It also does take the focus off of the traitorous Senate critters surrender on Odunga care repeal.

I agree. I am going to put my 2 cents worth on this one. DJT used to know so many of these people before running for office. They came to him for favors, money donations, etc. I think he believed he had a friendly relationship with many of them. After he was nominated they have been stabbing him in the back constantly. Joe and Mika are two of the worst. Having said all that, I also think DJT has a lot of saved info on people so they can’t retaliate against him. Remember that woman who claimed he sexually harassed her during the apprentice. Then he pulls out a recent letter where she is singing his praise and wants a job?
I think the clue to this tweet is the facelift comment. When did the facelift happen? That timeline could show Mika as having an affair long before anyone else, like ex husband, thought. It is also a shot to the rest of the backstabbers to back off, or I will lay down dirt on you too.

Thanks to Trump’s tweets going viral, rural red state America will not only hear what Trump said, but they will hear (many for the first time) the poisonous MSM slander and profanity that prompted Trump to respond.

Except, he doesn’t say “last” new years eve, just new years eve. In another tweet from 2016 he says paraphrasing, once things calm down, I will tell you all about joe and his long time girlfriend. Why the words “long time” if that was not an issue. Mika was just divorced in 2016. IMHO he is suggesting that this affair has been going on longer than they have been honest about, and he’s using the facelift comment as a time marker because her ex husband would remember what year she got a facelift. But, just a theory.
