I don’t believe the Polish people have the attitude you would like to bestow on all Europeans. If we, as a nation, are going to withdraw completely from the world stage, the best thing is to go back to our pre WWI neutrality. If, however, we are to continue to be the leader of the free world, it must be recognized that we need support and bases from which to operate to protect our homeland and that includes the protection of our Allies. Without our bases in Japan, how effective are we against N. Korea if it comes down to a fight?
Without our base in Germany, how much longer by air to reach medical treatment for our wounded?...or how much longer to launch operations in retaliation to an attack would it take. We DO NEED SOME faithful allies. I personally think the Poles are among them. You may think as you please, but I am not a total isolationist as you seem to be. We do need dependable allies. I will agree with you that Germany is not among them.
Before Bush went to Iraq and Afghanistan , he was looking for allies to go with him. So if big nuclear power does it why small Poland should resign? Diplomats do their job.
