PHOENIX An Army veteran with a terminal illness has a final wish that we can all help with.
It's doesn't require much effort on our part but would make a world of difference to a man who served his country.
He wants us, you, to send him text messages or give him a call. 210-632-6778.

Thanks for posting. I just sent Lee a text message. FYI, there is a whole group on FB, Arizona Vets, if anyone has an interest.

The Arizona Republic carried the story but Lee is in New Braunfels, TX.

I get a lot of facebook posts like this. I thought this was going to be a parody thread.

It may or may not be. I ignore them all. For every “single” case like this there are hundreds or thousands of other cases. I don’t respond to any of the “lets see how many people reply” posts. It’s one of those memes that is not relevant to me.
Now, if it is someone I personally know, that is a whole different thing. I have to say that if I was not long for this world, I’d not care in the least about people I don’t know responding to a facebook or text request. Human life is about personal relationships with people you know and connect with.

"People who want to call or text Lee should reach out in the evening hours, ideally between 2 and 6 p.m Arizona time. Ernestine said that is when Lee is alert despite heavy pain medication."
Every day is a gift and should be lived like it is the last day of our life.
Hopefully this story spreads like wildfire.
Maybe POTUS Trump or General Mattis could even call.

Why not just move along and do something else?

It’s never too late to connect with someone.
I’ve never met this man, but I’m a vet and that makes him a brother to me.

I did the same. Also posted it to a Facebook group for veterans of which I happen to be a member.
