New York Times Weeps: No One Cares About Russia in the World Breitbart Made
nytimes.com ^ | JULY 15, 2017 | JOSHUA GREEN

Posted on 07/15/2017 9:44:01 PM PDT by Helicondelta

The revelation that Donald Trump’s son, son-in-law and campaign manager met with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer promising information that would “incriminate” Hillary Clinton was a true bombshell in an era when we have become almost inured to them. Here was proof that members of Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign had, at the very least, been eager to collude with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

No one could gainsay the facts: Mr. Trump’s own son published them on Twitter.

As recently as five or 10 years ago, every major news outlet would have treated this set of facts as front-page news and a dire threat to Mr. Trump’s presidency.

Not anymore. Look to the right now and you’re apt to find an alternative reality in which the same set of facts is rearranged to compose an entirely different narrative. On Fox News, host Lou Dobbs offered a representative example on Thursday night, when he described the Donald Trump Jr. email story, with wild-eyed fervor, like this: “This is about a full-on assault by the left, the Democratic Party, to absolutely carry out a coup d’état against President Trump aided by the left-wing media.”

Mr. Dobbs isn’t some wacky outlier, but rather an example of how over the last several years the conservative underworld has swallowed up and subsumed more established right-leaning outlets such as Fox News.

Hey, Mr. Green. Why don’t you spend some ink on that MSNBC breaking scandal of a few weeks ago? You might recall that they had video evidence that the President ordered two scoops of ice cream on his pie for dessert, while his guests only got one. If that doesn’t tick off the Trumpsters, NOTHING WILL.

I think the communist media is trying to convince Americans that Russia is still the enemy. It isn’t. Most Americans now realize that Christian Russia is going to be a crucial ally in the war to preserve our civilization. Socialist Western Europe is probably already too far gone, so we need to pull away. We also need to clean up the rot in our country. The leftist establishment — the media, unions, the secular universities, Hollywood, the Deep State, the Democrat Party, the ACLU, etc. —must be dealt with.

Putin is not a nice guy, but he’s on our side in this war. The liberal media and the rest of the godless communist movement is not.

The MSM is still trying to figure out how to report on Trump Jr. wanting dirt on Clinton without revealing what the dirt on Clinton actually is.

They are walking a fine line trying to indict Trump Jr. without also incriminating Clinton in the process.

The leftist anti-American propaganda media put a known marxist muslim America-hating faggot illegal alien in charge of the executive branch for 8 years.

The biggest terror attack in history.

If we had justice in this country, these propagandists would be hanging from lamp posts...Appian way like.

Two parts to this: first, that they really don't think there's anything wrong with "collusion" with Russia, they are simply disappointed that we don't. They think this is 1964 and we're all in the John Birch Society and that the mere breath of suspicion of a Russian connection should be enough to undermine Trump, and - mirabile dictu! - it isn't working, because:

Second, that we're simply too stupid to appreciate the gems of editorial virtuosity they're laying before our ungrateful eyes. They're too good for us, really, they are.

That smell is panic. After all this time they're finally realizing what happens when their credibility is shot. Nothing happens. And it's killing them.

It’s water under the bridge now for the media. But perhaps if they HAD NOT set out to destroy Trump from the moment he won the election (obviously they had to try to destroy him prior), but instead tried to report fairly, and not make total asses of themselves - such as reporting on how many scoops of ice cream he gives out...not to mention the constant hit pieces...

...if they had done that. Simply reported, ignored the tweets that were silly, such as his inauguration crowd size...his teasing of the media...just ignored them, while also reporting objectively. Verifying reports BEFORE they go live, as the media used to do, etc.

Then, maybe, if they really did think they’d have a smoking gun, they just might have found Trump’s supporters a bit more open-minded to hear them out.

But at this point, all that we know is that the media WANTS TRUMP OUT, and everything they do, no matter how corrupt, is to that effect. And we simply are not going to give a crap about what they accuse Trump or his people of...since we have absolutely no reason to consider them credible..

“Earlier this month, a congressional source told me, Democratic strategists looking at a Republican-held swing district that is expected to be in play in next year’s midterm elections were shocked when a private poll they conducted showed that Republican support for Mr. Trump in the district is even stronger now than it was on Election Day.”

I could believe this. On election day, a lot of Republicans still weren’t sure if Trump was just putting us conservatives on, given his checkered past when it came to politics. Now we see Trump in action, and we have NO DOUBT that he’s the best thing to happen to our cause since Reagan, perhaps even better than Reagan (time will tell on that). I would expect that quite a few Republican skeptics now will be on board, much as Reagan increased his share of the overall vote in 1984, versus 1980 (when some people back then worried whether Reagan would start WW3).

“The Democrats and the media were able to drive Nixon out of office because they were able to depict as someone who went beyond constitutional bounds for his own gain and he couldn’t fight back - we didn’t have Twitter and Facebook back then. And the Big Three controlled everything.”

I was kind of young back then, but from what I do know (and do remember), Nixon did a lot of left-wing crap, like wage and price controls (still unbelievable) to try to ‘cure inflation’...sending China on the road to prosperity (at our expense), and imposing draconian regulations on businesses.

When it came time for Nixon to ask for support from his voters...the well was pretty dry. Like Bush Jr. (and Bush Sr., for that matter), virtually all of his strong supporters had reasons to not be happy with him, and like the Bush’s, Nixon got nothing but DISDAIN and HATRED from the Left in return...they were never going to like any Republican, and those 3 Republicans just couldn’t understand or accept that.

Trump, of course, is TOTALLY DIFFERENT than the Bush’s or Nixon. For starters he could care less whether Democrats like him, as he seems to understand, possibly better than Reagan, even, that Democrats will ALWAYS hate him...and so no ‘reaching across the aisle’, no compromises, no doing them favors. For the Supreme Court, it’s Gorsuch and probably Gorsuch clones (no Sandra Dee from Trump). For immigration, if anything, he’s moving further and further right, based on recent articles saying that he won’t support DACA against the Texas lawsuit (God, I hope that true).

But still, your points are good, but we did have plenty of alternative-media options with Bush Jr. as president - but Bush Jr. was so convinced that he could get Democrats to ‘love’ him, that all our tools were next to useless with him (although, thankfully, we did keep Harriet Myers off the Supreme Court). Trump is both able to use the tools available to him, and both understand what he’s up against - better than any Republican in my lifetime, at least.

“Most Americans now realize that Christian Russia is going to be a crucial ally in the war to preserve our civilization.”

We’re not quite there yet as a country, but getting close. I do think most Republicans (other than a handful of FReepers) are still trying to figure out why Russia needs to be our enemy now, when they jettisoned Communism, when they stopped threatening to nuke us, when they let go of Eastern Europe, and when their ‘aggression’ is limited to either protecting ethnic Russians in areas adjacent to Russia, or protecting an ally they’ve had for decades (i.e., Syria) against a country attacking that ally without any international justification (i.e., the United States).

As to Christian Russia - I agree with you, but most of this country, including Republicans, have virtually no clue as to what’s going on there or in Europe. Western Europe is now controlled by a Suicide Entity who’s only goal now is the total destruction of their cultures, by re-population of their countries. In 20 years (30 at most), all countries there will either Muslim-controlled, or on the losing side against their own local Muslims in civil war.

Russia has lots of Muslims, but at least understands them (perhaps having the Muslims there from the start helped a lot). Eastern Europe was behind the Iron Curtain when the leaders of Western Europe were being groomed to execute the Final Solution in the West, so their leaders actually support their own countries, rather than this Suicide Entity.

In the end, the alliances will be the United States, Russia, Japan, and Eastern Europe, against the Middle East and soon-to-be Muslim Western Europe.

Lots of wild cards, though, with China being the biggest, India being big, along with much of Africa. I think most of Latin America will line up with us, but Canada seems more interested in joining Europe and converting to Islam...so that may well be a big problem.

If the media had not gone hysterical on Russia or on something else as silly, the MSM would be effectively opposing all the stuff the President has been accomplishing pretty much unopposed. Trump has been keeping the RUSSIA!!! stuff going as cover for accomplishment. His right hand waves the red scarf which keeps the MSM staring and screaming at his right hand while his left hand is signing EOs and Acts of Congress, things the MSM and the Left in general could be hyperventilating about and maybe preventing were they not so totally absorbed in Russian folderol.

...and, very quietly, Trump signals that he might just not defend DACA against the Texas lawsuit, and may stop renewing DACA registrations...which means that DACA is dead in 2 years.

But no one is complaining...since all that they hear is RUSSIA! RUSSIA! trump sucks RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA!.

I also think that, given how corrupted and decayed our institutions are, we need to now consider what things are worth preserving and what have been so completely infiltrated and co-opted by our enemies as to be essentially a weapon being wielded against us in this war.

For example, should we really be defending “freedom of the press,” when doing so merely protects the lying, anti-Christian, anti-American MSM? Should we continue to operate as if the Democrat Party is still loyal to America, when it clearly is not? Should we just pretend that we don’t notice that public schools and secular colleges have become indoctrination farms for the anti-American left?

Trump’s primary Constitutional obligation is to protect the country. That is an obligation higher than following any statutes passed by Congress. Even the rest of the Constitution has to be understood in that context. The Constitution does us no good if we lose America.

Also: Based on the Law of God, from which the Constitution was derived, Trump has an even higher obligation than all that. It’s to protect Christian Civilization.

Whatever is required is what Trump needs to do. Just as Pinochet had to step outside legalism to fulfill his obligations to Chile and God, Trump must be willing to do the same to protect OUR nation and God’s plan for it.

There's a NYC talk radio host who is generally liberal but has known Donald Trump for a long time and has been a staunch defender of his.

One of the things he's been saying for months is that the flood of fake news and contrived outrage over Trump will make it impossible for people to know what's true and what's not -- so they'll just tune out these media outlets completely.
