Im an immigrant too but I don’t go around gunning down innocent Americans...

This doesn’t have anything to do with him being an immigrant (though being a Muslim might be part of it).

This is a story of negligent homicide (or worse) and a case in which at least a couple of superior officers should be losing their jobs and pensions.

The “Super Lawyer” part doesn’t impress me. It’s a self-congratulatory recognition given within the industry, and I’ve come across a few of them who shouldn’t even be licensed to practice law.

Something I haven't seen in the press is he was shooting past his partner out his partner's window

I wasn't there. Also, I'm not a cop, and have no training for such situations. But an action like this strikes me as a serious violation of protocol.

If, indeed, he was startled into firing, then he could have shot himself, his partner, or any other innocent bystander. At best, guy is an incompetent menace.

Hopefully the family has the wherewithal to see this through to a conclusion where - at minimum - the cop is dismissed. More preferable would be to see him behind bars. But as an "untouchable", my money is on the entire case being swept under the rug.

A similar incident happened in Ohio three years ago. A deputy sheriff on a drug raid fire a shot into a mobile home which struck an innocent mother of 3 and killed her. He at first said he did not know his gun discharged. Then when supervisor checked all guns they discovered. His “excuse” was It must have just gone off (bewitched gun). So gun was sent off to the state crime lab and found to not be defective. The facts developed the first officers to the door tossed in flash bang grenades. It was assumed our office fired then. Obviously he had his finger on the trigger (like this Minnesota cop) but swore he didn’t The Sheriff and Prosecuting Attorney went to bat for him. Eventually it was taken to the grand jury by state attorney general just to clear the air. No indictment followed.

The cop kept his job, only to lose it later on an OMVI where he lied to the Trooper.

The correct charge on the shooting should have been Negligent Homicide.

Nothing more needs to be said. Ten bucks says this guy shouldn't have even been a janitor in a police station.

No, haven’t seen any of the news conferences. Just did a search to find out what she looked like. From the video I watched briefly, she has a very whiney voice. Of course, she’s from the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party.

So he’s claiming that he’s been thrown under the bus because he is a Somali Muslim. The Somali community is raising money for his legal fees, because he is a Somali Muslim.

This is total BS. Now he’s trying to hide behind fear due to his race and the 911 caller was pen going. I read the 911 transcrpt. Diamond was as Calm as a cucumber. You don’t shoot somebody because you hear a noise. It notice the other cop didn’t draw and shoot her.

Why did the attorney tell him to say that? It must be part of the murder trial defense. The second part of the defense is to be sure the jury consists of burka and beards.

No, that doesn’t waive his 5th amendment rights. However, all of those friends he told can and will be subpoenaed and will be used as witnesses against him.

He thought he was being ambushed.

I have to say that had the races been reversed, (white cop, black victim), it's a story that might have a lot more support.

Anyway, while this guy might have overreacted, the cops are on edge, and for good reason. As far as I'm concerned, she's as much a victim of the Black Lives Matter war on police as the cop shot in NYC a few weeks ago. Of course, she didn't deserve it, but the BLM crowd have made the police just a bit too quick to shoot.

She said during a news conference “I’ve also been talking to Somali leaders in our community to hear their questions and their concerns"

Same types of statements by "authorities" when jihad actions kill and maim innocent people:

"The most important thing is we must stop all Islamophobia ie criticism of Islam or mozzlems, no hate speech, and Islam and Mozzlems are not at fault."

Victims of Mozzlem jihad which includes crime? Lost in the shuffle, of no importance compared to the potential of Islamophobia. How about talking to the friends and relatives of the VICTIM!

Bottom line: It’s not a good idea to be a cop if you’re that easily spooked.

Cops should be required to have milk instead of coffee with their donuts. They will be in a sugar coma and this won’t happen.

Justification for any Law Enforcement Officer in the use of deadly force would never include that they were spooked.

Investigation should proceed on manslaughter charges.
