Trump is in a “no-win” situation.

He has no friends in Congress, and no friends in the media.

Sessions doesn’t have the backbone nor courage to do what REALLY needs to be done:
1. Fire Robert Mueller for expanding the investigation beyond his mandate and for hiring political witch hunters.
2. Fire Rod Rosenstein for abject stupidity in appointing a special counsel to begin with.
3. Fire every Obama appointee in the Justice department and reassign every non-appointee hired by Obama appointees.

If Mueller stays, he WILL get scalps and thr roar for Trump to step down will be “bi-partisan”.

If Trump is forced out, the Deep State wins, permanently, unless a full fledged civil war breaks out.

You can write all of that down.

You are kidding right? Rosenstein is the snake that set it all up.

Sessions was stupid to recuse but the real blame is on Rosenstien. Who came up with appointing this mole and saboteur? Why the heck did he appoint Mueller or anyone to be SP?. FIRE ROSENSTIEN then appoint someone who will fire Mueller. Trump has to take his poison now (and recover from it) or suffer the death of a thousand cuts on the installment plan.

If Rosenstein does not do so soon, it may be time to get more creative.

I believe Trump should seriously consider having Sessions name a special prosecutor to look into various matters related to leaking, treason by current or former govt employees who are intent on subverting the democratically elected government of the United States.

I would further that by the selection of a high ranking member of the US Military legal team to lead the case. The DOJ should give said special prosecutor full authority to interact with any person, in or out of government, including members of Mueller’s investigative team.

This will not solved by fighting it directly, but rather by accumulating leverage.

Why was he feeding the NYT? I can understand his frustration but I wish he would choose his rhetoric and audience a little more carefully.

Sessions appointed Rosenstein and then steps down for some arcane ‘conflict of interest’ excuse.

check statement for accuracy ...

You’re wrong.

President Trump hasn’t committed a “gaffe” as you call it, in pointing out the fact that Mueller has major conflicts of interest to be a special counsel and has no basis whatsoever to be conducting this political witchhunt and snooping around in areas of his life with unlimited resources and political hacks working to destroy his presidency.

That said, by these unnecessary PR gaffes, he is simply keeping the public focused on Russia and other issues where there is no winning outcome for him, only quantifying the degree of loss.

You couldn't be more wrong.

The President must fight back aggressively on all fronts, and your assertion that he has anything to do with "keeping the public focused on Russia" belies the 24/7/365 saturation coverage which it receives in the Propaganda Media. There's nothing he can do to blunt that, so he might as well be true to his own instincts. They've proven to be remarkably on target thus far.

Steps down = recuse.

It was orchestrated from the get-go. Sessions is compromised or corrupt.

Yep—Jivanka convinced him to go with the GOPe weasel Priebus as CoS, and then Priebus brought in a GOPe lackey who has been systematically screening Trump loyalists out of positions, while slow-walking appointments otherwise.

Maybe we can put to rest the idea that business executives are necessarily better at running governmental departments than the usual old political suspects.

the smart move for Sessions would be to say, I’ve recused myself from any Russia campaign connection, but I’ll be retaining full control over any and all aspects of any investigations into other matters. And, btw, I’ve asked Mueller to justify in writing every hire he’s made, including why each person was hired for what task, and the individual and total salary cost to the taxpayer of these hires to date.

The shit is getting ready to hit the fan. I believe Sessions will resign, as he should, then Trump will fire Mueller.

Except reports are Sessions says he won't resign. Otherwise ... I like this thesis!

Yes, he should ask himself WWOD? And that is exactly what Obama would do, had the situation ever come up.

Exactly.

Congress subpoenas Eric Holder over F&F. Holder ignored the subpoena. Congress charged Holder with contempt. Obama pardoned Holder. The GOP shrugged their shoulders. "We tried but executive privilege has a grand tradition."

The media didn't really care.

The fight for 2020 is for those in the middle with a margin that can be very slim so the left and Never Trumps will keep on pushing Russia to exhaustion. The ground needs to be held. Losing one of the states gained may determine a loss. It’s a chess match that I honestly think the DNC thinks they have a chance to win as long as they can cultivate more angry voters and illegal votes.

President Trump nominated Rosenstein to serve as Deputy Attorney General for the United States Department of Justice on January 13th.

Sessions was confirmed as AG on February 8th.

How about Trump fires Sessions, fires Mueller and appoints Sessions Special Counsel to investigate the Clinton Foundation, Hillary's emails and the unmasking for political reasons???

I’ll tell you what would be effective, a Special Council Cost Clock that shows the cost increasing every day. The people will take care of wandering when they see their money being wasted supporting a bunch of lawyers. Some one find out the cost to date and we will calculate the cost each day

“Simple criticism about Trump doesn’t mean we don’t support him and aren’t happy to have him in the Oval office...”

Neither is Sessions above criticism. It’s refreshing to have honest opinions. Sessions doesn’t seem to mind, why should we.

BS...this is not a PR gaffe, this is his only way to counter attack. Thank God we finally have a Republican President who actually fights back!!!!

I am not a big fan of liberal Trump and never have been but he is doing the right thing otherwise we lose the US to the globalist. It is time for trump to expose Mueller and the rest in this conspiracy to take out a sitting president. Sessions is allowing this to happen and if his recusal on Russia is helping the consparicy he needs to go today or un-recuse himself and set up a special counsel to investigate the deep state conspiracy.

The problem is that The Great Unwashed have neither the time, education, interest, nor intellect to understand the issues here.

All they hear is Trump threatening people, and saying he “might” do something. All this achieves nothing. It just keeps it in the forefront of the public mind, and if anyone thinks it will deter the SC, they do not realize that all this is doing is inflaming the situation and waving a red flag in front of the SC bull.

Also, if he fires the SC, he is gone in 120 days. Trust me on that.

Kinda sick of making excuses for why these zips are inside the wire with us.

In all honesty, the depth of the Deep State has taken me by surprise. And the fact that DJT is still being hammered daily tells me he hasn't buckled to their intimidation. He's putting on a remarkable display of courage.
