POTUS SLAMS SESSIONS AGAIN: He Endorsed Me Because of Big Crowds, Not Loyalty

In a brief interview with the Wall Street Journal, President Trump ripped into Attorney General Sessions once again. This time, the President cut even deeper, suggesting Sessions endorsed him because of Trump’s success as a candidate, not out of loyalty.

President Donald Trump  expressed his disappointment in Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday and questioned the importance of Mr. Sessions’s early endorsement of Mr. Trump’s candidacy, but the president declined to say whether he planned to fire him.

“It’s not like a great loyal thing about the endorsement,” Mr. Trump said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “I’m very disappointed in Jeff Sessions.”

While the President is still mum on his plans concerning Sessions, Scaramucci told NBC News a decision on the AG’s future will be made ‘shortly.’

If I were Sessions I would let Trump fire me.

That would be petulant. If Sessions can't understand the President's desire for him to resign—without making a firing necessary—then he's too damn stupid to be AG.

You can say what you want about the President's public behavior towards Jeff Sessions. But unless Sessions is even pettier than his fans are accusing President Trump of being, he should (re)submit his resignation basically immediately...

-- To be fair - it's not Sessions job to "protect" the President --

Okay, scratch that part off. My point was that Trump gave his reasons.

I personally think the reasons Trump is giving are bullshit.

I see the panty-waists and thoughtful souls are out in the droves - can’t wait to see what that idiot Charles Krauthammer has to say! Maybe he’ll get tips from the weak-kneed freepers!

I bet he will. Sessions did the right thing ethically, if not politically. And he knows Trump had no more consistent supporter and he knows he has worked to implement Trump's agenda at the DOJ, and he is accomplishing a lot.

Sessions has nothing to do with Mueller, it’s all Rosenstein.

If true it’s pretty crass. Why the hell he didn’t start with Rosenstein l’ll never know. It’s obvious Rosenstein set this coup up and gave Mueller outrageous latitude for the purpose of destroying Trump by whatever means necessary. Get rid of Rosenstein first. I just don’t get it.

Do you think Cruz would sign up for the buzz saw that is striking Sessions? Cruz has a cushy gig in the Senate.

he should (re)submit his resignation basically immediately...

He offered it several weeks ago after Trump's first public outburst. He shouldn't offer it again.

God, you’re always the first one bringing out the knives for Trump. You never change.

I wonder why I even hang around here, there are so many cowards and hand-wringers and anti-Trump advocates. If we were Democrats, we’d never be behaving so hysterically.

Sessions recused himself without even discussing it with the President .That alone is reason to fire Sessions. Plus he’s done nothing not gone after the leakers like Comey or criminals like Hillary.

You are cutting your own head off slandering Trump . After Trump is gone they will go back to business as usual adding 97,000 pages of government regulations per year as Obama was doing not reducing goverment regulations as Trump is doing.

So after Trump is gone they will destroy busineses, the economy and America in a short time or do you think America can whistand 97,000 pages of governmeent regulations added per year?

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/12/30/obama-oversees-record-year-regulation-97000-pages/

America , freedom ,property rights etc. last as long as Trump is president , not much longer after that.

Because Sessions is focused on America not the swamp you say he has done nothing.
The border agents love him, sanctuary cities are quaking in their boots (ballet slippers). There have been massive pedophile, sex trafficking, drug smuggling,M13 gang, & medicare fraud round ups, many of them of historic sizes.

I really think Clinton scandals are less important to the Nation as a whole than returning law & order & making our citizens safer. If it takes 3 years to get Clinton indited so what!

"Is Trump aware his constant badgering makes him look worse than simply firing him?"

I think Trump sees the AG's role as one of defending himself against all slings and arrows. That and Trump seems to relish not only defeating people not totally loyal to him but to be vindictive about it. Honestly though that trait was/is part of Trump's appeal to his base. We just hoped it would be applied to democrats.

There is always a way to do things that work out better... there is a way to take charge and it leaves the naysayers without much of any answer/comeback. One example is the difference in Spicer and the new man Scaramucci, who takes charge of the press. There is a way to be dominated and there is a way to dominate.. with respect. Trump can be one who dominates with respect, but his tweets get ahead of the respect from the “others”. Yes, he’s through with Sessions and Yes, Sessions ended up being weak and an insider, and Yes, Sessions should resign or be retired ...

Trump handles some things with lack of tact .. even though tact is no longer a term we live by, politicians use it to sound like they care... the public does not recognize the difference ....on either side.

FYI, I am a Trump supporter from the first day he came on the scene... I’m not leaving him... I am very tired of the attacks on him by the media... and he could help that if he just used some tact.. he CAN... he just usually says it his style... and his naysayers attack.

‘Sessions did the right thing ethically, if not politically.’

The right thing in such situations is to give your boss a heads up. Forcing Trump to first hear of this decision via the MSM is reprehensible.

As for loyalty, it appeared that Sessions was initially a Cruzer. Sessions inflated Cruz’ role in killing amnesty out of all proportion, in contradiction of the facts. Sessions later admitted he had erred and retracted the comments.

Yeah it’s funny how many FReepers who want politics changed still demand political “loyalty”. Trump demands results, he did reward Sessions with a top gig as AG and Sessions has stood feebly by while Trump and his family are excoriated and Democrat crooks roam free. Loyalty does not require keeping the wrong guy in the job.

Everything Trump says and does is for a reason. Let it play out. I for one have the popcorn out..
