I can tell you the exact reason why McCain voted against it. It can be summed up in twenty words: “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” McCain has been waiting since November to get even for that. He will let the entire country go to hell if need be in order to exact his revenge. He is a small and petty man.
