A recent poll suggests one in three California residents would support a possible secession from the U.S. because of their opposition to President Donald Trump.
"There's such hostility towards Trump that many citizens believe it would be smarter to leave than fight," Democratic political strategist Steve Maviglio told Reuters.
A Reuters survey revealed that 32 percent support the so-called “Calexit,” an increase of 12 percent since the last poll was conducted in 2014.

That’s a lot of Electoral votes the Democrats would lose. And sets in the Houe. And 2 Senators.
Checking out the county by county results of the 2016 Presidential election shows that only half of the counties went democrat. We can assume that if Sacramento wants to secede then they will do so with less than they think. Plus, the San Diego Naval Base, Vandenberg AFB, etc are federal facilities and may not transfer quietly.

At least 1/3 of those residing in calif are illegal alien invaders . Who cares what they think...they should be arrested and deported.
California is already overrun.

Or China would invade and take the place over; maybe invade and take Mexico took, in fact probably take over all the way to the Panama Canal, which they already have. They could move north as well, and end up taking over the whole west coast. They would be a formidable enemy.
After we loot the place, everyone surviving who was involved in the secession attempt would be deprived of their civil rights. Republicans would control California for a generation. *Net* gain of 110 electoral votes and Congressmen/Senators.
