The latest garbage, NH primary poll with Gay’s itch leading an incumbent President by a wide margin. GFAFB.
I don’t know much about Colyer, either. I just don’t want an ugly scene between him and Kobach.
Could end up with an outsider Governor in WY, not that that’s a bad thing. Mead has been a decided disappointment.
There’s a guy named Mango running for Governor in PA. I presume Wagner is the leading challenger against the execrable Wolf. I see ex-Lt Gov. Cawley is mentioned, but he would likely be tainted with ex-Gov. Corbett’s unpopularity.
Saw that, gave me a round of derisive laughter. Who did they poll ? Democrats ?
“Could end up with an outsider Governor in WY, not that thats a bad thing. “
As long he’s not from outside the party, as happened in 2002.
Nailed it. The embedded premise of the article is that the Democrats getting beat in the redistricting game is unfair. Hence it is gerrymandering, a word that would not be used if the Rats had won the game. And of course that mean old electoral college is unfair too.
Freudenthal probably could’ve served as a Republican and it wouldn’t have made much of a difference.
You wouldn’t have had a Governor of GD Wyoming endorsing Barack effing Obama and giving aid and comfort to dem scum across the country who plan to win in areas they should never.
Since 1974, WY has only elected 2 Republicans, Geringer and Mead, to the Governorship. For some reason, the voters rejected Eli Bebout. Bebout himself, I know, had been a former Democrat. Could be the voters like balance by splitting the government. After all, without that, you wouldn’t have heavy Dem states doing the same with electing Republicans. Freudenthal certainly didn’t help in improving Democrat power in the state.
As I recall Bebout’s son was arrested for drunk driving shortly before the election and pulled a “do you know who my dad is?” routine, that surely hurt in a state like WY. His career went on, he’s now President of the State Senate.
Balance btw can blow me. I probably have more respect for committed ideological libtards than for ticket splitting fools who would vote for Bill Clinton’s US Attorney after the Clinton administration’s war on the west.
On January 1, 1992, GA’s U.S. House delegation had 8 white Democrats, 1 black Democrat (John Lewis) and 1 white Republican (Newt Gingrich). By April 11, 1995 (the day that Nathan Deal switched to the GOP), GA’s U.S. House delegation had 8 white Republicans, 3 black Democrats and 0 white Democrats. Thanks, Voting Rights Act and Democrat redistricters!
Came close to getting Sanford Bishop to switch, too. Sadly, he’s retreated to the nutterleft wing.
That's one reason we have an uneven playing field in this country. RAT governors who get elected in strongly Republican states (Sebelius in Kansas, Henry in Oklahoma, Freudenthal in Wyoming, etc.) have no qualms about loudly supporting the national leader of their party and "standing by" their policies (Obamacare, puke), no matter how unpopular he/she is in their home state.
The reverse is NOT true of Republican Governors who win in heavily RAT infested states. Bruce Rauner wouldn't touch Donald Trump with a 10 ft. pole. And don't get me started on all the New England RINO Governors who routinely worked to undermine President Bush and distance themselves from him.
Basically, our side is spineless.
