President Trump’s question to reporters on Tuesday about the possibility of tearing down historical monuments has been answered by a Chicago pastor: “It’s time.”
Bishop James E. Dukes of Chicago’s Liberation Christian Center made headlines in the Windy City on Wednesday for calling on Mayor Rahm Emanuel to rename Washington Park and remove a statue of the first U.S. president over his ties to slavery. Mr. Dukes told his Facebook flock that “it’s time” after Mr. Trump sparred with reporters over efforts to expunge Civil War-era monuments from existence.
“This week it’s Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson is coming down. I wonder is it George Washington next week and is it Thomas Jefferson the week after? You know, you really do have to ask yourself, where does it stop?” Mr. Trump asked reporters on Tuesday as he spoke on last weekend’s violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Protests over the removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. resulted in the killing of Heather Heyer, 32, when suspect James Alex Fields, 20, plowed his vehicle into a crowd.
“It’s time. Please read my letter to Mayor Rahm Emanuel and The Chicago Park District,” Mr. Dukes wrote on Facebook Tuesday night. “I’m calling on them to change the names of Washington and Jackson Park. Slave owners do not deserve the honor of our children playing in parks named after them. There is no way a Native American Community would allow a General Custer Park or a Jewish Community allow a Gestapo Park in their community.”

I’ve said before that we need a law to protect statues of the founding fathers and their likeness on our currency. I think it is of absolute paramount importance lest we completely forget our past and its heroes.
Will they rename the Washington monument and perhaps that city on the Potomac and rename all the city streets named after our 1st POTUS? Then go after all of our one dollar bills.

According to Wiki, it is not a French word, but a French corruption of a Miami Indian word. Nasty cultural appropriation. The city must change its name now.
And while we’re at it, the Rev. Dukes has a name that is all too close to David Duke’s, and is itself derived from an ancient Latin term implying patriarchy and bringing to mind various anti-pacifist traits..

I have also heard it means the “place where skunks live.” There is an Indian legend that a hunting party came through and asked the locals for a good place to hunt. They were sent to cheecagu, which was overrun with skunks.

Well, if these black militants keep this nonsense up, I think the best thing to do is remove all remnants of those slaves. Anyone who is a descendant of a slave needs to be relocated to the country they came from ancestrally. But only black slaves. White slave descendants can stay as long as they don’t talk any smack about taking down our monuments.
I like the idea and it’s too bad it’s coming to this in America. M.L. King was one of the good ones just like General Lee.
Those on the left pushing for the removal of historic monuments should have their citizenship stripped and be exiled to the country of their ancestors or whichever one they have the most DNA from. Not only them but their immediate family as well. Let them see if they like their homeland better firsthand together.
If they don’t like America or its history, too bad, it is what it is. There’s no changing it now for better or for worse.
