The only reason we got McCain was because Giuliani waited until Florida to start campaigning. If Giuliani had run a more aggressive campaign then he would have split the RINO vote with McCain allowing a better conservative candidate to run against Obama.

Marco Rubio’s failure to condemn communists and the violence THEY brought to Charlottesville is a real disappointment. Romney is plainly ignorant, but Rubio should know better since his family fled the commies in Cuba. Perhaps the Rubios were among a small number Cuban communists who just didn’t get along with Castro and were forced to flee, now pretending to oppose communism, but remain still ideological communists.
Even in spite of their weaknesses, McCain and Romney would have still meant too much in material blessings to America for it to be able to wake up to the fact that it was in trouble before God.
We might have seen a greater secularization, a greater globalization. And a lot of superficial blessings, which would mask the deep-down problem.
I really don’t think McCain or Romney could have muffed domestic prosperity like Obama did through his rawer leftism. And I championed both of them for that reason.
But God knew what lessons America had to learn. As in the famous sermon “Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God,” America was drawn near to hellfire, all the better to realize that the grace of God, and nothing less, was the answer to their predicament.
In a scene where a lot of people made mistakes or worse, nobody is going to be happy with “who is condemned.”
America has jettisoned the love of God, and has gone after many schemes.
The folly started in Charlottesville with the protest about General Lee’s statue. Lee, minus the romance, represented an ugly worldview, that of using something noble (states rights) to foster something ignoble (slavery). While the war wasn’t ostensibly about slavery, it roiled at the surface, and Dixie doubled down on slavery when it cut off the supply of more-free blessings from the North. Does any serious person think God grinned at this?
The good Lord knew what he was doing when he made us suffer with 4 more years of Obama instead of Romney being elected. Looking back now I ‘thank God for unanswered prayers’.
