Bannon may be right. But sore losers don’t advance themselves in politics. You leave quietly, blame no one, but continue to fight for what you were always fighting for. You don’t burn your bridges behind you; you keep your future options open. As time goes on, politics may again make strange bedfellows, but Bannon may be neither one of the two joining elements.

Trump needs to start a new party in time for the 2018 election.

Based on the track record so far, who'd work for him?

If Trump hires you, don't buy a house, don't lease an apartment. Take a hotel room.

Unless your name is Jared. Or Ivanka.

The country is not lost and I agree with Bannon.

The president is alone, the republicans are such cowards, they’re scared of the media. They’d rather just treat him like a storm they can ride out. They don’t believe they should honor the will of the people.

We will show them next year.

The only thing I expected with Trump beating Hillary is that we would lose at a slower pace.

Me too.

Ultra-liberal New York Democrat versus formerly-liberal New York former-Democrat.

The choice is obvious, but don't think you're getting Cal Coolidge here.....

Bannon's sentiments as expressed here—specifically with regard to the GOPe Congress—are spot on.

It might not be what anyone wants to hear—but it rings 100% true to me.

It's not the President's fault. It's the scum-sucking party of abject cowards that he leads.

I truly despise the Republican party leadership. A bigger bunch of disloyal cowards and selfish career politicians I've never seen.

At least the Democrats can be loyal to their Presidents.

With their actions since January, the GOP has put itself in a very precarious position going into the 2018 midterms.

Apparently, the GOP Congress just doesn't care to lead this nation. "C'est sera sera" is their attitude. It takes much less effort for them to be in the minority and pretend they're conservative, pretend they oppose Big Government, and pretend they care about the People who have given them control of both Congress and the Presidency.

President Trump stands virtually alone—against the entire Establishment—and with the GOP Congress wallowing around in the Swamp along with the Democrats, the only hope for this Presidency is for the People to demand accountability.

The People are going to have to join with the President to drain the Swamp, or the Swamp is going to absorb entire Republic.

The President can't drain the Swamp by himself. He's going to need our help—because there's nobody else left.

I hope every single God d-mn disloyal GOPe Representative and Senator gets primaried in 2018. And I'm starting to believe that the President needs to abandon the GOP and start a new party. He did an admirable job last year, but I now believe the GOP is beyond hope, and deserves whatever fate awaits it...

I would disagree with you, not in the aspect of NK being able to inflict tremendous damage on SK; nobody needs or needed to be reminded of that. It is no secret. There has been plenty of Cong testimony that such an outbreak of war would be horrific and I have no reason to doubt that.

It may well be a true truth that Trumps’s bellicose stance against NK was more bluster than reality; However, the statement IMO *DID* need to be made that NK would face utter destruction in the event of a missile attack on the US or territories. The rhetoric employed *did* elicit a response from China which might be revelatory to those watching more closely than you or I. IMO it also generated sort of an air pocket in which Kim Jong Un can say nothing for a period and not quite look he’s backing down.

So as a tactic, I consider it to have been useful. For the tactic to be useful, Kim has to take it seriously. If Trump’s top adviser comes out and claims “he’s just bluffing”, unless I’m missing the reverse one-and-a-half-gainer strategy (very possible) it’s a piece of Bannon undermining Trump and at the same time, a ratification of this leaking thing for NPG No Possible Gain.

Thus, I don’t agree that Bannon’s firing is stagecraft. At least so far.

“Trump doesnt seem to mind surrounding himself with obama holdovers (which he could fire), democrat appointees who dont believe in his agenda like mcmaster, dina habib, tillerson, kelly, etc etc.”

Well said. We have had Bannon and Miller paddling one way, and a big government/globalist/Obummer holdovers/swamp creature cabal paddling in the other direction. And, if anything, it seems the latter group has been growing in influence.

No wonder it hasn’t seemed we were making much progress with a conservative, America first agenda.

>>The Republicans have completely betrayed us.

Trump needs to start a new party in time for the 2018 election.

I believed from the get-go that Trump would be betrayed by the majority of the RINOe, and was praying that he would go rogue on election day and formally establish a new political party. He didn’t and now he’s reaping the whirlwind big time. SAD, for him and for our country.

” The entire current crop, with about 15 exceptions in BOTH houses, needs to be swept out.”

what is the explanation for DJT’s endorsement of Luther Strange? Why not remain silent or endorse Moore (or even Brooks—he seems to have buried the hatchet for Nikki Haley, Rick Perry and even was reported to be considering that idiot Corker for secretary of state)?

how can the swamp be drained when RINOs are endorsed (or hired) over more desirable candidates for office/positions?

Yeah, and I’d say it also isn’t exactly a paragon of courageous behavior.

(Sorta reminds me of that old expression about which “passenger” is first to abandon a sinking ship.)

Don’t give up hope so soon.

I think Bannon’s departure could be the kick that the administration needs. Bannon had to self-censor in the White House, and I think we’ve all been a bit too quiet about the administration’s shortcomings and willingness to embrace liberals and globalists. Someone needs to drag administration policy back to the right to get the policies we care about back on track. Otherwise we’ll end up with a chain-link fence pretending to be a border wall, a couple bandages on immigration that the next president can overturn with the stroke of a pen, etc.
