I gave up on the NFL last year. Hardcore fan for 50 years but I’ve had enough. I’m down to the NHL in terms of tv sports.

I have far more better things to do with my time on Sunday that patronize multi-millionaire head cases and their “daycare providers” (e.g. the owners).

I happen to watch a little of the Eagles last night. A lot of empty seats. Maybe it’s my attitude or maybe because it was pre-season, but there was no energy.
So this is how they plan to “Kill the Cash Cow”.

I used to be such a big NFL fan when I was younger, I even was a Detroit Lions fan growing up, talk about hard core. Then moved to Illinois just in time for Ditka, that was great. Don’t know when I stopped really caring, but the last 5 to 10 years, I barely watch a couple games a year, if that, maybe some of the Superbowl, but I just do....not....care..... funny, same with baseball, maybe when they became big business over being about the game.
Politics, etc, just doesn’t belong. Still like college football, but that is also slipping in my mind.
Not that I’m a Jerry Jones or Dallas Cowboy fan (I’m not), but Jerry did come out the other day and say that anyone that sits for the national anthem as a Dallas Cowboy is gone.
The final straw for me was the video of Ray Rice punching the girl in the elevator. I haven’t watched a full NFL game, nor played fantasy football since. 35 year fan here, and pfft, it was gone with no regrets.

No, the Texas Shootout was Baylor-Texas Tech last year. May be the same teams this year. She also wanted to go to A&M& Arkansas game but ain’t gonna’ happen. Not sure they’re even playing this year.
