Trace Gallagher on FNC just said TX Gov Abbott wanted Houston to be on an evacuation footing, and Houston officials were not on board.

Is that the station at the RV park? I hope it is attached to a solid foundation.

If you look at FEMA’s flood risk maps for Houston, seems to me it wouldn’t be a city-wide bug out, just an evacuation of high risk areas. The entire city is not at high risk.

Good info about Gov. Abbott and Houston officials differing in their evacuation opinions. Thanks for catching that.

Ike was a cat 2 @ 110 MPH winds at landfall. It was a cat 4 but downgraded before coming ashore.

Weather Underground station 78418 at Corpus Christ NAS reporting wind steady at 51.6 and a gust at 71.3, air pressure 29.3 inches. Report was from 4 minutes ago.

Looks like a high outlier?

Don’t know how to post link.

Looking at those FEMA risk maps, I don’t know WTH the locals are thinking.

Thanks for remembering to pray for animals as well as people. After Katrina, thousands of pets who made it through on their own were shipped to shelters all over the country. And the people were “temporarily” relocated to Texas.

I have a sister in a northern Houston suburb, suspect she took off early this morning.

It is a CAT 3 at 125 mph NOW but Fox News said that it is strengthening and it could easily become a CAT 4 (130 mph) before hitting land.
