The 2017 regular-season is less than two weeks away and Colin Kaepernick remains out of work. Depending on who you ask, the reasons vary from "he's being blackballed by the league because he knelt during the national anthem last season" (as a form of protest against social injustice, it should be noted) to "he just hasn't played well enough the last few years."
Rev. Jesse Jackson firmly falls into the former category. On Friday, he said during an appearance on "Real Time with Bill Maher" that NFL owners "have colluded" to keep Kaepernick from playing.
"They have decided not to have him play and he should have the right to play and express himself at the same time," he told Maher, adding later, "He's not burning the flag, he's not hustling drugs to teammates, he's not shooting people with guns."

Why doesn’t this racist scum go spit in some more white peoples’ food? What a degenerate and hustler. “Reverend” my a**. This race-hustling pimp should take a leap.
The owners know a dud when they see one. No collusion necessary.
Kaepernick insists he should be paid by virtue of the color of his skin, not the content of his character...
Stop with the “collusion BS” ... they didn’t collude. They decided as a group, that Kaepernick was NOT going to make the NFL profitable ... he caused millions in losses last year in revenue. Nothing to do with race, everything to do with behavior. We watch sports to get rid of politics, when we suddenly see politics on our favorite playing field? Well its time to turn on Netflix.
Maybe, just maybe, no one wants a controversial dirtbag on their team.
Of course. Kaepernick is colluded against because he's black and an activist. Tebow was colluded against because he's a Christian. Sams was colluded against because he's gay. It's easy to accept any underlying reason except for the fact that the player in question just wasn't that good. Not at the NFL level.
I hope they did. They know he’s hurting the brand.
The owners and media colluded to keep Tebow out of the NFL.
I don’t & I don’t. Didn’t know he was still around.
If the NFL never played another game would anybody care? Of course Jesse the racist would be screaming about 70%of the players are out of a job
Jesse’s lying. He has no clue if the owners have even discussed it with one another. If they have, and made that decision, GOOD!
Can’t see the insignia well enough to tell if that Marine is Master Gunny or Sergeant Major. But God bless him and all like him.
The fact that he’s way past his prime and can’t play at minimum NFL standards plus has an uncoachable attitude has nothing to do with it.
This is nonsense! Kaepernick didn’t get picked up by anybody because he’s not that good. That’s why the 49er’s let him go. Jesse Jackson doesn’t know what he is talking about.
What the ACLU fails to understand is truth of what it requires playing quarterback in the NFL. It is about so much more than just raw skill. The ability to lead, to unite and to put team success above all else is crucial. The NFL is very aware of this need. As one NFL official, who did not want to be identified said:
It is really not about his ability, its about the risk of what happens to the team concept when you sign a guy a quarterback who has put his personal agenda ahead of what we are all charged to do, which is put the team first. As a team builder, I cannot risk that happening again, especially for a borderline starter who needs the entire offense catered to his style.
Jesse wants a ‘meeting’... it’s getting worse:
“SEATTLE - Reverend Jesse Jackson... wants to have an extensive conversation with Texans owner Bob McNair.
In the wake of a firestorm of controversy following McNair saying “We can’t have the inmates running the prison,” at a recent NFL owners meetings, Jackson was sharply critical of the remarks... “
They didn’t collude. Each and everyone of the saw that he was a huge threat to team unity.
