I will say that the city was well prepared. That said, I was a little puzzled by the decision, because it certainly sounded to me like at least excessive use of force and I don’t think the cop was completely without blame.
But rioting isn’t the way to solve it, and in fact, the expectation that people are now going to riot no matter what the decision has actually even devalued rioting. (If such a thing is possible!)
My sister lives in the area and explained they went for Murder 1 - and that’s the problem. He might have been convicted of manslaughter, but not enough evidence for 1st degree.
