The Japanese have four Aegis destroyers.

“Why are we risking US blood and treasure in this far away peninsula when the south Koreans are perfectly capable of defending themselves?”

Uh, because Rocket Boy either now has, or very soon will have, H-bombs he can put on missiles that can reach the U.S.?

The use of an ICBM threatens us. His intermediate missiles can reach Guam, a US territory.

“So why would Rocket Man back down now?”

He won’t back down but won’t strike first either.

What will end up happening sooner or later is that he will get a lot of people killed unintentionally and then it will be game over for him.

The League of Nations were absolutely worthless tits facing Hitler’s aggression leading to WWII.
The UN is the same. Shooting his plane down, like Yamamoto—that’s the ticket. This kid is certifiable.

Did you know that his disciples believe that Kim doesn’t crap?
Of course they see him eat, but they actually teach, and NORKs pretend to believe, that he has a little biological catalytic furnace inside him that burns up every bit of waste.
Now that’s industrial-strength crazy.

Our reaction should be to test one of our own (or maybe an MIRV’d Minuteman III) on Pyongyang.

I’ve read a few books by ex-Norks.
He has them so screwed in the head,
the citizens might not surrender
even when Juche-fruit’s dead.

Problem is Missile Boy has a flawed Intercontinental Ballistic Missile that he wants to use that overflies Japan and other territory he is not secured. We didn’t use a long range ICBM and overfly other countries. Even when the Soviets used an ICBM they did it within their territorial waters.

The way you deal with a baby throwing a tantrum is not to yell back at him. Rather you ignore them. They lose all stimulation. You don’t give them treats.

The US has been doing all of the wrong things for years. Why do we elevate this fat loser to our level?

Very skeptical that China is cutting off all banking with NK.

China? Look no further than South Korea giving NK a pile of money, or so I read in the news today.

France alone, and most certainly if allied with Czechoslovakia, WAS militarily capable of defeating Germany in 1938. In 1936, when the Nazis reoccupied the Rhineland in violation of the Treaty of Versailles, it would have been a cakewalk for France. That’s the irony. Fearful of another world war, the allies backed down and got one anyway on terms more miserable than the one they avoided.

Didn’t they cart out the top 5 feet of top soil and replace it?

I'm afraid "they" simply used bulldozers and pushed the top 6" into the ocean on Bikini Atoll, if that's what you're talking about. Much too expensive to haul it away.

I read somewhere that Adolf was surprised how easily the ‘allies’ gave it up in the early days. He’d expected counter strokes and was prepared to retreat. Turned out he didn’t have to and, as a result, he got a dose of ‘victory fever.’

Oh he has no reason to strike anyone, that would be folly. But he will continue to test his technology and march towards nuclear ICBMs since the evidence tells him he will lose if he caves. Hopefully there is a solution that results in the fewest possible deaths.

It is hard to know what the people of NK think. I know the divide goes back to the US/Japan treaty after WW2 where the north, furious at Japanese atrocities in the decades before the war, refused to make peace with Japan, told us to take a hike, and threw in with the Communists. But that was a long time ago.
