Russia might be about to invade Europe. Here's how America should respond
Washington Examiner ^ | Aug 31, 2017, 9:37 AM | Tom Rogan

Between Sept. 14-20, the Russian armed forces will conduct a major exercise, ZAPAD 2017. Employing forces from various Russian commands, the exercise will test the military's ability to conduct a combined arms offensive. That's exactly the kind of operation Russia would use to invade Europe.

While there's nothing new in the Russians carrying out a military exercise, this situation is different due to the scale and location of the forces involved. Russia claims under 10,000 personnel will be involved but as many as 100,000 Russian soldiers are actually expected to deploy. Their number will include armored and artillery units, and strike fighter aircraft. As interesting, instead of training in Russia, the forces will conduct their exercises in Belarus. Trump Predicted the Left's Angst Toward Thomas Jefferson Watch Full Screen

That geographic choice is designed to send a specific message to NATO.

After all, bordering NATO member Poland, Belarus offers ZAPAD forces the means to rapidly strike into the heart of NATO. Joining that threat is the Russian fortress-oblast of Kaliningrad, where reservists have been called up...................

Putey barely had enough money to take the Crimea. Let’s get real folks. The reason Russia is never at war with anybody is because they can’t afford it. They have a very modest economy and conscripts for most of their forces.

They can invade.

And overrun.

But can they hold the nations conquered?

Highly doubtful.

[ I read this book already.
Clancy is a good writer. ]

Clancy has a wonderful ghost writer, in fact it is himself!

[ I got a contingency plan for the Russian invasion. Hear me out, this is good.

1.) Let Russia invade, put up sham resistance.

2.) Let the new Russian overlords kill all the democrats, moslems, and ship the Mexicans back to their wonderful homeland.

3.) Once that is accomplished, we conduct Operation Wolverine 1776 and wipe those commie bastards off the map.

4.) Take the rest of the day off.

Whaddya guys think? Plausible? ]

It is a hell of a lot more plausible than any plan claiming it can make socialism actually work as sold!

But then again I have higher chances of spontaneously sprouting wings that can fly me to mars and back.

Really. Aren’t about 7 or 8 thousand of the tanks they’d need filling used tank depots in the Ukraine?

[ Given Europistan’s present situation, I do not see this as something bad.
The Russians would given the “prophet” and the ill informed followers the disrespect they deserve. ]

As long as Russia skipped all the countries not letting in mu-slimes,it would be an act of mercy, just don’t let russia touch poland, hungary, or bulgaria and a few others.

Yup the red scare was quite effectively dealt with by Reagan seriously depleting their wartime economy, and they won’t make that mistake again.

Russia today is roughly the size of china with the economy of Italy, to invade anyone even a former satellite is sketchy propasi9tion, invading another full fledged non-former satellite country would be sheer suicidal stupidity.

You can put me in as “Secretary of BLANK” where if you want to kill a bureaucracy, just put me in charge and I will shutter it and move to the next! :)

I’m sure you saw the images of Kim Dung Un standing next to his supposed hydrogen bomb...

What did you think...did it look plausible? unlikely? possibly workable but crude???

That case looked very good. Too bad almost anybody can make something that looks like that but it is whats inside that counts and that is speculative.

From the initial and subsequent reports it looked more like the event was from a boosted fission device, not a thermonuclear device. I saw some article stating the second quake proved it was thermonuclear because that was the secondary explosion of the device but it only takes a few Shakes between the primary and secondary so I believe that article to be nonsense.

I have been proven wrong before so YMMV.

You think it’s because of the Russian church? The invasion of Ukraine and the intimidation of Georgia seem a little less subtle.

LoL..yup, to quote doc Brown.."a shoddy bomb casing full of old pinball machine parts" :-)

My first thought was also boosted fission..or perhaps several smaller warheads set off at once.

The author is correct on allies. An army with a poorer but much more dedicated nation behind it is worth far more as an ally than army with a richer but less dedicated nation behind it. Move our forces in wise numbers wherever feasible to fit that tenet. Other than that, with the real situation at hand, without a cohesive NATO, the remaining number of American days of freedom may be short.

LET PUTIN HAVE EUROPE!!

The writing is on the wall for Europe with demographics now making it a Muslim continent within a few generations. Merkel foolishly accelerated that timeline by decades by importing millions more. It’s now unavoidable.

And the weak Euros deserve every bit of what they’ll get because they’ve been both gullible and arrogant.

So the USA shouldn’t spend another red cent on defending Europe (except our friend Britain). The US should withdraw from NATO. At this point, it’s a total waste of money.

Then let Putin have Europe and he’ll strong-arm the Islamists like the Euros cannot. He’s not PC at all.

Even though Putin is a bad guy in some ways, at least he’s part of Western Civilization and we can establish an alliance with him in the future clash of civilizations: Islam vs. Western Civilization.

Russia has beautiful women.

Therefor Russia is not the enemy.

Pitting northern nations against each other is destructive.
