Minutes after learning that Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) won’t seek reelection, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) told The Hill on Tuesday she’s considering running for his Senate seat in 2018.
“Yes,” Blackburn said when asked if she's taking a look at the Senate race.
Blackburn said colleagues told her about Corker's retirement during votes on the House floor. The Senate Foreign Relations chairman did not give his delegation any advanced notice of his decision, lawmakers said.

She has the highest American Conservative Union ratings of anyone in the current Tennessee Congressional delegation. Is she for real or another Ayotte/Capito? Seems that almost all female GOP Senators campaign as conservatives and become liberals in office.

Corker should QUIT NOW and give her a running start for 2018. Won’t have to campaign as hard or raise as much money as an incumbent. In 2019 Alexander QUITS 2 years early. Same thing.

Agree, I’m skeptical of her. Once they get to the state level there’s a tendency to see beyond their district. This has a liberalizing effect on them.
