President Trump's inaugural committee announced it intends to donate $3 million to several organizations assisting with hurricane relief, following criticism for not donating the outstanding funds sooner.
The money will be divided equally between the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and Samaritan's Purse, Thomas Barrack Jr., chairman of the private Presidential Inaugural Committee said. The three organizations have been involved with hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf Coast, Florida, and the Caribbean.

Samaritan’s Purse, at least, will direct most of the donation to those in need. The Salvation Army, while not as good at that as it used to be, is still OK. The Red Cross money might as well go to the local crime lords.
Shouldn’t the recipients return the contributions because they come from a white supremacist group of donors that read Dr. Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham book while growing up?

MAGA MAN has proven himself to be no BO’B nor BUSH.
He acts when all around were walking around the course chasing a ball or hiding behind a clump of trunks.
Coming in late on donations is really a more realistic way to respond to this series of disasters, as too much money too soon causes considerable misappropriation and tends to overwhelm the ability to properly disburse the funds in an orderly manner.
The worst part of a hurricane, or any natural disaster, is not the initial impact, but in the aftermath of cleanup and poorly done reconstruction. The storm itself may pass quickly, but the effects may be a problem for months or years to come.
There are still a good number of unrepaired homes on the Jersey shore.
You can’t swing a dead cat without seeing home construction though.
You’re absolutely right about the secondary effect and needs. The immediate fix is pretty straightforward but it may take years to fully recover. On the flip side, if done correctly with stringent building codes and inspectors, these homes and commercial buildings can be constructed to withstand much of the fury next time.
I heard Rachall madcow accuse Trump of using this for a legal defense slush fund. That was a lie. Now trapped in a lie will she apologize?
still want to know the left is dooing
Gee - doesn’t he know it’s supposed to be a personal political slush fund????
Has any Clintoon or Obama committees done anything similar?
Agree. Pres Trump mentioned the rebuilding part of the process, earlier today.
No time to put up with shoddy construction going forward.
I’m the The Former pResident’s Foundation has already contributed millions to Harvey, Irma and Maria/PR rebuilding efforts. Right?
