Because Puerto Rico truck drivers are unable to get to Port, or cannot be contacted....on Twitter/NEWS day before yesterday! Only 20% showed up, and without them the containers that have been sitting in port cannot be moved to the people in PR that need them!

Trump responded and the containers of food and supplies are in the port....not enough truck drivers to get them to places they need to go to help those needing them!

Most drivers have their homes damaged and are dealing with their own problems/family. OR have been hurt or unable to get to docks.

The food and supplies have been in port for several days, and need to be moved to distribution locations.

TWITTER EXCHANGE - JUNE 30, 2015 TO JULY 1, 2015:

HILLARY CLINTON: Puerto Rico’s debt crisis is not theirs alone. For PR’s economy to grow & their people to thrive, they need real tools & real support. -H

CARMEN YULIN: Mrs Clinton, we need economic and political powers outside of the US Territorial clause.

Article 4, Section 3, Clause 2: Property Clause. The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State.

In other words, Ms. Yulin stated that Puerto Rico can make its down political and economic decisions, without US influence or rules and regulations, or “outside” of the US Territorial Clause. Yet, this week she’s TOTALLY BASHING DONALD TRUMP for not acting fast enough to help Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria and blaming the US for not staging a faster response.

Hypocrite much, Lady?

Ricardo Rossello, the Democratic governor of Puerto Rico, said Friday that President Trump has responded to his requests for help in the aftermath of two hurricanes, which devastated the island.
...
You know he is corrupt as Castro, but he appears politically astute enough to not bite the hand feeding him.

PR was doing great until the KLINTOONS decided to repeal tax cuts that created jobs and prosperity.

That sounds like a good idea...we can’t have PR imported to Florida - then FL would be blue.

Not sure if from what I’ve heard about PR citizens work ethic that they’d actually take advantage of a hand up...might just be another hand out.

How many of these media dirtbags donated even a nickel of their own money? None I’ll bet. Libs are notoriously stingy.

Thank you for explaining it for me. So all the hoopla about the Jones Act was just bull... the non-US ships couldn’t have made effective use of their cargo anyway. Sorry, but I’m kind of having a hard time with the fact(?) that none of the locals can help each other out. And do we not have choppers and troops to deliver to the outlying villages? It’s just that I see a whole bunch of complaints about the US gov, and very little humble-bragging ( which would be totally fine about now) from the locals about what they are doing to help themselves.

And if they donated any money they did it so they can deduct it from their income tax

“Not sure if from what I’ve heard about PR citizens work ethic that they’d actually take advantage of a hand up...might just be another hand out.”

Yeah, you’re probably right that it would just be another hand out. But, as you inferred, it’s better to rebuild and kee’em in the island rather than have them in Florida. However, if they could be persuaded to go to NY that would be great. Being most of them are currently on some sort of welfare anyway, would fit right in....
