Some possible gun legislation to consider

As I said above, this probably seems completely out of character for me, but as much as it pains me to say it and with full knowledge of the potential implications for a slippery slope, I think we need to consider a ban on both bump stocks and these automatic fire conversion kits. (I’ll give everyone a moment here to light the torches and begin painting up posters calling for my deportation.)

So when the antis see your post, will they try for a rubber band ban or a semiauto ban?

Definitely a ban on semi-autos. They've already started with the ban on so-called high capacity magazines (30 is standard capacity for an AR-15, so...). Even 5 rounds in a shotgun is too much for some folks.

They've already stated their disdain for semi-autos so we'll be hearing about that. Even a double-barrel shotgun is probably one barrel too many for these folks. If you can fire again in under 5 seconds, well, they don't like it.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the invention of something for bolt action rifles that deliberately slows down the cycle rate. Think about the QWERTY keyboard and how it's layout was actually designed to slow down typists to prevent keys from jamming. Yeah, it'll be that level of stupidity.

Before long someone will suggest that since only muskets and muzzle-loaders were around in 1789, that's surely the only thing our founding fathers had in mind and the only types of firearms we should be allowed to have. (excepting of course the paid security for our dear leaders and movie stars, who will get taxpayer funded full autos).

He owned an airplane, could have taken off from Vegas airport loaded with gasoline and maybe TATP and crashed into the crowd.

But that wouldn't further the agenda of grabbing guns. Doesn't have that same shock-and-awe value this guy was probably after, either. I think he wanted to see the carnage he was inflicting. Sick bastard.

Firearms training should be mandatory in high school or Junior High. EVEN THE LIBERALS would have to go through the training. Look at all the crap WE have to do for them, ‘bout time they smelled some REAL smoke.

When you consider the carnage he could have created with a hijacked, loaded semi tractor trailer at 60 miles per hour, people should be thankful he chose firearms........

I hate to say this, but looking at it from an engineering standpoint, firearms might actually be a limiting factor. I wondered when the first big concert/mass assembly attack was going to happen with a firearm. This evil a$$hole was clever enough to add attacking from a height, where locating him and returning fire were made much more difficult. And he had a lair were firearms and ammunition could be stockpiled. Such a combination of events may not happen again. Even so, he killed only 58 people. I say this with an eye toward macro events, and understanding with humble sorrow how bad it sounds.

Unfortunately, the science of killing people is not in it's infancy. Militaries know that riflemen hold ground, but to really get efficient at killing you need to bring in artillery or air power.

Guns are demonized, but in that morbid list of criminal mass killing events, firearms are behind kinetic energy(aircraft and trucks), arson, and bombings. Banning guns and ignoring underlying causes will make our criminals turn to more efficient methods, while taking the most effective defensive measures away from law-abiding people.

No wonder I can’t find a Bump Stock for under $300.

Don’t need it, but the Liberals are making me want it.

I was thinking more of a suicide mission in one of the aircraft he supposedly owned.

Another excellent point......

MSM tells these evil people what to do to get maximum coverage.

Ridiculius. Mods are so easy to do on own, this will serve to attack gun owners and weigh on them, not stop criminals.

Idiot fails also to see that the dude purposefully tactically shot from a high rise away from people packing!!

More relevant would be to ban tall buildings and celebrities with compounds in Vegas! That is a tactical add on to the issue.

All this author is doing is attacking poor people goods and supporting celebrity access to highly tactical capabilities.

Effing shill.

That said bump fire stocks are legal because BATFE says so, they can snap their fingers and make them go away.

Can they outlaw rubber bands as well?

I sent a letter to my state legislator yesterday urging him to introduce the Carnage From Above Citizen Protection Act. CACPA protects citizens by banning all buildings greater than four stories and requires owners of taller buildings to tear them down to their four story maximum size.

It’s about as stupid and meaningless as what the mental defectives on the left are proposing

Just as long as somebody does something. Obviously it doesn’t matter if it’s ineffective. Remember. #onlygunviolencematters.

When are we going to outlaw files? After all some semiauto weapons can be altered to full auto with just a file. Others require a more complicated alteration as you need to slow down the cyclic rate by imposing a delay in the hammer release.

And imagine how much damage a file can do to a piece of steel. My goodness, you can make a knife
