The Las Vegas massacre has been weighing heavily on the hearts and minds of everyone, including celebrities. In the immediate wake of the tragedy, we saw stars calling for better gun control laws, and now, a day later, we’re seeing many famous women share a powerful quote attributed to — but actually not originated by — Gloria Steinem, which compares gun control and abortion, as the House voted on legislation banning abortion after 20 weeks.

“I want any young men who buy a gun to be treated like young women who seek an abortion,” it reads. “Think about it: a mandatory 48-hour waiting period, written permission from a parent or a judge, a note from a doctor proving that he understands what he is about to do, time spent watching a video on individual and mass murders, traveling hundreds of miles at his own expense to the nearest gun shop, and walking through protesters holding photos of loved ones killed by guns, protesters who call him a murderer. After all, it makes more sense to do this for young men seeking guns than for young women seeking an abortion. No young woman needing reproductive freedom has ever murdered a roomful of strangers.”

where to start hmmmm - the right to protect ones life, liberty and pursuit of happiness is a God given right whereas abortion is not. Also, every abortion kills a child whereas every gun purchase does no harm to anyone.
Actually, EVERY woman who has an abortion HAS murdered a room full of RELATIVES - her child, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and so forth ad infinitum.
Would that include the federal government extorting money from taxpayers to pay for guns the way they pay for abortions?

48 hour waiting period? What about a 5 day waiting period? Signed note by a parent or guardian? What about being prohibited, if you're not 18 for a rifle, or 21 for a handgun?

If the quote is trying to equate gun buyer vs. abortion, then you have to use equal standards. But they can't, because a 15 yr old boy canNOT legally buy a gun, at least not w/o parental permission. But a 15 yr old girl CAN legally have an abortion, no parents involved.
What a ludicrous, contrived, twisted, misinformed comparison between two things that are as related as watermelons and pipe wrenches. More evidence that liberalism is a mental disorder.

There are many more than babies killed every day in abortion clinic than the Vegas shooter killed.
