".... how YouTube determines whether a source is authoritative?
What do they mean “authoritative sources”
CNN?
They’ll no doubt use their “success” in this to justify managing “hoax” videos about tax cuts, obamacare, climate change, etc. We’ve proved that “wisdom of crowds” does not lead to people viewing the proper set of content so we need a higher power to decide for us.
Youtube’s purpose isn’t to just host videos from all uploaders, but also to decide WHO the proper authorities are and herd viewers to the those videos and away from the “hoaxes”. /sarc
It looks like you can't rule out a shooter on the 4th floor or any other floor at this point.

There seems to be a perversion of logic here. Law enforcement and the media tell us that they know almost nothing about Paddock and his motives, but they’ve “debunked” all of the goofy ‘conspiracy theories’. If one doesn’t know anything definitive and has only hypotheses to work with, how does one debunk an alternate hypothesis?
No thanks. I do to want total sensorship and control of information. I am capable of thinking for myself.
So, YouTube knows which one’s are hoaxes...and which one’s aren’t?
The Po-Po needs to talk to YouTube to solve this heinous crime.
You can think for yourself but appear incapable of understanding that private companies can do what they want with the information on their websites. Go figure.
Speaking of strange things, did anyone else hear the video of someone saying that they were in the room next door and saw the police gun down a security guard?
So youtube is in on the cover up.
I trust 1A Auto. Great vids on specific repair to vehicles!
Stop it with the straw man fallacy.
I never said that I "trust" YouTube or any source.
You are the one who said that YouTube acting as a gatekeeper, is a good thing.
[[Muslims and/or ISIS members do not need to purchase automatic weapons from infidels when they can obtain sophisticated weaponry free from their co-religionists in the Middle East who will be more than willing to supply them.]]
Hey looky here

ISIS looking to buy weapons
Not a strawman. You’re the one who brought up trust regarding youtube. As to them taking down infantile conspiracy theories about the Vegas slaughter, you’re right; I do think it’s a good thing.
I never said that I trusted all YouTube videos. I did say that I don't trust YouTube to pick and choose which videos to delete.
Not that complicated really. But you seem to have trouble with it.
Anyway, you trust YouTube to pick and choose. I don't. And you respond with a straw man that I trust YouTube.
