He could have a fellow fag or two in the place who are bodybuilders. Despite the stereotype, some in the homo community are quite strong and muscular, and could do serious damage to you if you pissed them off.
Now, it doesn't matter how strong or muscular you are if you whip out your trusty CCW when threatened. But, I doubt any responsible gun owner would want it to get to that level.
