MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell had a sorry excuse for why she hasn’t covered a story about the Clinton Foundation receiving kickbacks from Russian officials.

President Donald Trump accused the “Fake Media” of refusing to follow developments in the scandal. The Hill released a report on Tuesday that alleges the FBI buried evidence of Russian kickbacks to the Clinton Foundation as then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton approved a uranium deal with a state-owned Russian company. Andrea Mitchell, who hosts her own show on MSNBC and is the chief foreign correspondent for NBC News, claimed that she hasn’t been ignoring the story because she covered it “some years ago.”

“President Trump, at the end there, talking about a story we did do on NBC some years ago,” Mitchell defended.

Here’s what I want to know. Imagine we had gone through all past 9 months of RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA! and then the Uranium 1 story broke. Only it involved Trump and his wife and sons getting the payoffs and bribes and overpaid speaking engagements. Would the Uranium 1 story be front page news then?
