A small town near me in Texas made a pitch for the new HQ. We’ll see...

I second that or anywhere in California. Stay out of Pennsylvania.

FWIW, Calgary made a submission to Amazon but Calgary’s chances are most likely poor. Calgary has a slight, outside chance since comrade Nenshi was unfortunately re-elected as Mayor last Monday. He is a big supporter of LGBTQ demands and a mohamedan besides, so he has the pedigree that people like Besos crave. Couple that with lefty Premier Nuttley and left PM Turd-owe, Calgary has an outside chance.

“PLEASE stay out of Denver, Amazon. Colorado has been invaded enough the last 20-years!”

Colorado is a goner. Far too many Kali plates on cars says so.

Even Douglas county is now left-wing.

Would you want an influx of 50,000 super liberals into your state?

Companies do not hire by politics. I work for a fortune 100 and have never hired a sole based on politics, and neither does a corporation like Amazon.

Some of the comments appearing here on this matter are pretty unfounded.

Leaving aside their real or imagined issues, however, I think Amazon would be great for any second-tier city that is hoping to become a first-tier city. I wonder if Jax (Jacksonville, FL) has applied. It would be a great fit, I think. It’s a regionally important city, already has a lot of back office stuff and young people moving in from the NE, it’s a port and near great coastal recreation areas...and this could be its chance to become a nationally important city.

The obvious place is one of the Amazon countries...Brazil, Colombia, Peru, maybe Ecuador. Low labor costs.

Companies do not hire by politics.. Really? LOL Maybe not in the warehouse but in their corporate offices it’s a different story. Here are two examples of the Amazon liberal employees:

Employees want Amazon to cut ties to Brietbart
https://www.buzzfeed.com/charliewarzel/amazon-employees-are-trying-to-force-the-company-to-cut-ties?utm_term=.aa1743Av4J#.mdK6oqyEoM

Amazon employees oppose Trump, refuse to work on databases. They stand in solidarity with Muslims
https://www.seattletimes.com/business/microsoft/never-again-pledge-draws-tech-workers-who-vow-not-to-help-build-possible-registry/

Amazon is the largest employer in what is arguably the most liberal city in the country. Of course they hire liberals.

It should be pretty easy with those clowns. When you’ve grown up corrupt, it’s almost impossible to hide it.

“Tax-free”, as in, no state corporate taxes, and no individual income taxes.

Those can be big advantages to any company or individual looking to lessen the burden of taxes. I don’t pay income taxes, and when I was an IT independent contractor, I didn’t pay corporate taxes either.

Real estate and sales taxes are also a burden, but then, we can’t have everything be “free”, like schools and roads and fire departments and police departments. I’m pretty sure that everybody that looks at “no corporate taxes” and “no individual income taxes”, would regard those as advantages.

The price Georgia is willing to pay is an end to religious liberty. An Amazon payroll will buy gay weddings in any venue!
