Might I suggest that no good could possibly come from the negotiations? They certainly aren't going to increase 401k deductions - they can't do that and fund the tax cuts. All they will do through negotiations is decide how much of the deduction to cut. And whether it's by $1 or by $15600 it's going to raise my taxable income. Why should people be happy with that?

I'm curious to see what comes out. In past years, Republicans "negotiating" meant "agreeing to what the Democrats wanted". Not so much anymore.
My work 401k's have always sucked. The only reasons why I've used them is the company match, and/or the tax breaks. If they're scaled back, but my taxes are lowered an equal amount so that I can afford to invest more on my own? Heck yeah, sign me up.
