This is getting redundant. There is so much hell raising about the guy getting a gun when you can buy the same thing on the street without any background check in any major city, or minor one, in the US. Anyone can get a gun. The trick is to be qualified to sell one and do the work to get it sold legally.

The military does not broadcast it’s business findings in the open and the discharge papers, the DD 214, contain a code that targets the reason for discharge. And if a person is discharged under less than honorable conditions, why didn’t this raise a red flag as to the persons privilege to own a gun? If they had looked, they would have seen that the offence that got him out would have taken away his right to bear.

It wouldn’t have stopped him from getting a gun, illegally, but when you consider the Obama Adminstration flooded the market with illegal weapons to try to catch cartel members. “fast and furious”, what’s one more? And before you libs out there go after me to protect that lying illegal, Fast and Furious began under the Obama administration, dating its inception to October 2009. (Obama took office in January 2009.) This was collaborated in a report by the Obama people and the US justice department. This directly contradicts Obama’s claim. He and Holder did it and it cost lives. But is it any different than selling guns illegally?

And if you take them away from the common citizens following the law, only the criminals will have them. So the good guy who shot the bad guy to save lives, would have been unarmed. More would have died. Justify that one.

Are you certain Obama implemented fast and furious to snare the cartel?
It always appeared to me that the intended result was more shooting and louder screeching for gun control.

I’ve never been asked for my DD-214 when purchasing a gun.

And how would they know if I even had one?

Doesn't work that way. They ask you questions about your background and criminal history, but they also use a national database to check who you are.

The problem with this guy is that the Air Force neglected to actually file the paperwork/keystrokes that his guy was able to even buy a firearm of any kind. With his history he wouldn't have been able to buy a pop gun if the Air Force (The Government) had done its’ job!

The following questions are on the Form 4473 Firearms Transaction Form

#11 f: Have you ever been adjudicated as mental defective OR been committed to a mental institution?

This jack-hole had escaped a military mental facility in the past!

#11 g: Have you been discharged from the armed services under dishonorable conditions?

HE was dishonorably discharged after a conviction for domestic violence!

#11 i Have you been convicted in ANY court for a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence?

He had beet up his ex-wife and cracked his infant child's’ skull that he did time for in military prison.

Had the Air Force not been negligent and as incompetent as every other government bureaucracy and actually reported the conviction, discharge and time served in a mental institution to the data base, he would not have had a gun at all.
