The fears escalated for Harpreet Singh Kohli under the glow of a TV screen last year, when his daughter broke down at the sight of the words strung across the screen: “TRUMP WINS 2016 ELECTION.”

“This is not good for our country,” his daughter, then 8, cried. Even at her young age, she knew she was a U.S. citizen — and her father was not. “This is not good for you.”

The American father who your dad took his job has a different opinion.

“This is not good for our country,”
!~!~~~~~~~~~~~~

I guess it is not good for India.

Our country, the United States of America, needs to restrict immigration and remove illegal aliens.
Flooding the country with foreigners is not in the interests of the citizens.

Actually, I don't see how it's not good for India. Odds are this man was educated at Indian universities funded by Indian taxpayers. How does it help India to have him in the US working at a job and paying taxes here? I don't understand why nations like India and Mexico aren't joining forces with the US to try to get their own people back home and working there. Foreign remittances are not a substitute for workers helping to grow an economy.

H1-B visa is the straw man.

Think hard and think deep.

LEGAL immigrants under the chain migration system in place are being imported at 50 times higher numbers than H1-B. Most are low wealth and low skills (61%). 25% have skills and taking jobs away from middle class Americans. That is 12 times more numbers than H1-B visa totals.

Most H1-B visa are IT people. The Legal immigrants take away more important and more productive jobs in engineering, accounting, science, metallurgy, pharmacy, legal etc from middle class America.

Those who ignore quantity will suffer the consequences.

Problem is too many uneducated Africans and too few educated Indians. One contributes and votes Republican, the other brings crime.

So refreshing to see job postings with the phrase, “we are not sponsoring candidates for this position” attached. I cannot imagine why H-1B visas were EVER needed for finance positions.

Yet, for the first time in years, I am actually starting to receive calls for interviews again.

Go Trump Go!

There are 3 times as many American born whites on welfare as African-Americans. The opioid crisis is hitting white America bigly. WA & CO is full of whites stoned on legal hashish.

Chain migration is to be blamed. That terrorist from Uzbekistan was here on green card, and he in turn sponsored more green cards, with total of 23 Uzbeks traced back to him.

Same thing with Indians. Once one is awarded the green card, one can sponsor brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, parents, kids, grand parents, etc. Then each one of them can LEGALLY sponsor all their relatives.

“What the administration is doing is just putting more roadblocks in to make life more frustrating and irritating,” Das said. “I guess on paper everyone is fine. But whenever you have to go for a renewal or an amendment, you’re like ‘Oh my God, here we go again.’”

The 'feel good' story of the day.

Most H1-B visa are IT people.

I disagree. I know way too many H-1B personnel filling finance, strategy, consulting, marketing, pricing, forecasting, and analytics roles to be persuaded otherwise. These individuals are not just coders: they are managers, directors, and vice-presidents doing jobs that many Americans are qualified to do.

To make matters worse, foreign people come as students, get a Masters or Doctorate degree and keep hanging around until they can get a company to sponsor them with the 'high-powered' pedigree that they received on borrowed money (likely student loans) that they may never repay if they get deported.

Some go through the process, get green cards, and even become citizens, but that process is long indeed. As I had to explain to my daughter, I know far too many Americans laid off so that corporate America could replace them with H-1B individuals.
