Love that. Thanks for posting.
Nice!
Ivanka’s daughter performed a Chinese song (in Mandarin) for the visiting Chinese President, when he visited MarALago....
Didn’t hurt the beginnings of their (Trump and XiJinping’s) relationship, but not so sure it ‘played a role’ in what negotiating is going on between the two.
Darling, none the less.
When Nixon went to China in 1972 did he not got to the Forbidden City? I am almost sure he did.
Amazing. And, an historic honor, indeed.
Did Nixon dine in the FC?
I just looked it up and no he did not dine there, He was given a tour of it and met with Mao, but did not have a dinner there. So Trump is the first to do that.
“But Xi would have hosted Her there also if (horrors) Her had won.”
I don’t think so. I think it would have been impossible for the Chinese to treat that vile criminal as an equal, just as with the Kenyan Commie.
“am saying the concept would be true throughout history. So in essence if it was just about chinese people why havent they done it before...but I guess you are saying , in essence, it is a perfect storm for the move.”
The Emperors brought foreign dignitaries and heads of state there. Traditionally it was a sign of tribute from the visiting state.
The Communists have not and were against any vestiges of imperial power and were about the people.
Xi is symbolically showing he is Emperor. And having the first visit from the greatest nation is showing Xi’s imperial power within the context of the Chinese worldview.
I suspect that the only deal that is set is the $85 billion Chinese investment in West Virginia shale and chemical manufacturing.
I seem to recall China lecturing the Obama administration about our economy because they have a lot of investments here. Maybe they are pleased that Trump is working to improve our economy rather than to destroy it.
