Moore: I'm Not Going Anywhere

Despite calls for Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore to step down if the allegations of sexual misconduct are true, Moore said he’s not going anywhere.

The Senate candidate released a statement about Thursday’s report in the Washington Post that he stands accused of inappropriate sexual behavior with a minor in 1979, questioning the allegations based on their timing since he’s been in public service for more than 40 years and the political motivations of the paper, given that they have already endorsed his opponent.

NEW: @MooreSenate statement on @washingtonpost report: #RoyMoore pic.twitter.com/kX17YRKDcK — Brooke Singman (@brookefoxnews) November 9, 2017 However, several other women also came forward with allegations that Moore “pursued them when they were between the ages of 16 and 18 and he was in his early 30s, episodes they say they found flattering at the time, but troubling as they got older," the Post reported.

Nevertheless, Moore doubled down Thursday night on Twitter.

“The Obama-Clinton Machine’s liberal media lapdogs just launched the most vicious and nasty round of attacks against me I’ve EVER faced! We are are [sic] in the midst of a spiritual battle with those who want to silence our message,” he wrote.

“The forces of evil will lie, cheat, steal –– even inflict physical harm –– if they believe it will silence and shut up Christian conservatives like you and me,” he continued. “I believe you and I have a duty to stand up and fight back against the forces of evil waging an all-out war on our conservative values! Our nation is at a crossroads right now — both spiritually and politically.”

“Our children and grandchildren’s futures are on the line. So rest assured — I will NEVER GIVE UP the fight!” he added.

Leigh Corfman says she was 14 years old when an older man approached her outside a courtroom in Etowah County, Ala. She was sitting on a wooden bench with her mother, they both recall, when the man introduced himself as Roy Moore. It was early 1979 and Moore — now the Republican nominee in Alabama for a U.S. Senate seat — was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney...Alone with Corfman, Moore chatted with her and asked for her phone number, she says. Days later, she says, he picked her up around the corner from her house in Gadsden, drove her about 30 minutes to his home in the woods, told her how pretty she was and kissed her. On a second visit, she says, he took off her shirt and pants and removed his clothes. He touched her over her bra and underpants, she says, and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear...Two of Corfman’s childhood friends say she told them at the time that she was seeing an older man, and one says Corfman identified the man as Moore. Wells says her daughter told her about the encounter more than a decade later, as Moore was becoming more prominent as a local judge. (Washington Post)

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Chairman of the National Republican Senate Committee Cory Gardner, and other prominent Republicans are calling for Moore drop out of the special Senate election in Alabama if the allegations are true.

Not just “about to take a seat”: he ran for state Chief Justice twice and won both times. Everyone in Alabama had to know who he was, especially the second time, because he had been kicked off the state Supreme Court because of the Ten Commandments controversy. So yeah, if anyone had anything negative like this to say about him, you certainly would have thought they would have raised it at that time. This is a total b.s. smear.

Jet.com is owned by Walmart. $35 free shipping. They have most of what you can find on Amazon. Walmart.com is much better than I used to be and they have $35 free shipping.

Not a big fan of Walmart either but good option for Amazon.com. Amazon does have the best bookstore online but I still refuse to use it.

Sounds like fantasies of young girls to have an older boyfriend.

I am not a fan of Walmart but if they stay out of politics and the culture wars, I will do business there.

It’s almost hard to keep up with all my boycotts.

BWE, back away from the caffeine man. The post was referencing a person having a recording of a call where said person was offered a $1000 to accuse Moore of sexual misconduct. Jeez, easy there.

This appears to be a “thing” in some pockets in the South.

I had a former business colleague who was working in a remote corner of Kentucky. It seems that every 17-18 year old girl there was throwing herself at much older men. My friend was 40 at the time, pushed his employer to transfer him out of there cause he just couldn’t deal with that.

Such a HUGE “IF” but treated in all these quotes and demands to step aside as not really a factor. If, If, If, If. Shame on all the Republicans who never liked Moore for jumping on this disgusting bandwagon.

Article 1, Section 5 of the Constitution states “each house shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members..”

The GOP establishment is laying the groundwork for refusing to seat Judge Moore after he is elected next month. Alabama law does not allow for Moore to be removed from the ballot, he will be the GOP candidate. As there is no avenue to replace Moore, the present maneuvering by the establishment is best viewed as the opening move in a ploy to squeeze Moore into stepping aside after winning the election. If the Senate declines to sit Moore, it would put him in an awkward spot. The Republican margin in the Senate is already narrow, and we need every possible vote. The pressure on Moore to step aside at that point would be intense. A righteous stand by Moore would be welcomed and applauded by true conservatives. At least until that first vote fails by a single vote. Then what? Would everyone be willing to trade tax reform for a righteous stand? I pray that God would strengthen the resolve of all men so that they may have the courage to do what is right and proper. But ours is a fallen world and the evil is upon us.

Yup, that's their story and they are sticking to it.

Of course this is all orchestrated by The Deep State. Those who are demanding that Moore step aside are all part of The Deep,State.

My instincts say this is going to backfire. Even here in L.A people are starting to say this has become a witchhunt and now people are settling scores with old accusations.

Judge Moore has to endure a difficult couple of weeks but I think if he denies it without qualification, denounces as a smear, its going to look like a heavy handed political smear and won't damage him.

Pretty obvious that this is orchestrated if not coordinated via pc reflex.

The GOP is doing the same thing the NFL is and it is mind numbing stupid.

Not buying it. The GOP establishment swamp critters are behind this, not Dems.

Not sure about that. They would have released this info during the primary. I'm sure they are pretty happy about this though.

...but we must not overlook the fact that women aren’t little angels.

Paternalistic legislatures and judiciaries have clearly stated that they are.

If WaPO offered to pay women to lie about these claims, then it is absolutely clear that they are libeling Roy Moore. He should be able to bankrupt them with a lawsuit.

That - and a landslide win for Moore - is what it will take to stop this crap. And the whole “Russia Trump Dossier” is the grand-daddy whopper, used to supposedly justify political snooping and witchhunts within the legal system rather than simply going through yellow “journalism”.
