Bill Walton apologizes ‘on behalf of the human race’ over UCLA shoplifting in China
Washington Post ^ | Nov. 11, 2017 | Matt Bonesteel

UCLA and Georgia Tech finally played their season-opening college basketball game in China after nearly a week of drama surrounding an alleged shoplifting incident involving three Bruins players. UCLA great Bill Walton, who was doing color commentary for the ESPN broadcast, wants everyone to know that the school and everyone associated with it is very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very sorry for all of this.

Very.

“I am sad, disappointed and embarrassed. This is a very big deal,” Walton said as the game tipped off late Friday night on the U.S. East Coast. “The noble purpose here has been stained. Our host, Alibaba China, the people, they have been better than perfect in everything. They’ve done everything right to make this all work. Now members of our family have displayed an appalling lack of honor, a lack of respect, a lack of decency by doing something in someone else’s home that they would never do in their own. And I want to apologize right now on behalf of the human race for this travesty.”

Bill, I hear China was ready to let them go based on your conciliatory comments... until you apologized for the whole human race.

Which by the way included the Chinese dumbass.

Bill is the wrong skin color. White privilege, Bill! Better Colin Kaepernick.

Is that very times 10 sorry or very to the power of 10 sorry? Is it possible to be very to the power of very sorry? Because if so, that would be scary sorry.

a lack of decency by doing something in someone else’s home that they would never do in their own.

LOL! I bet these three shoplifted from stores on Rodeo Drive too. But the store owners knew enough to keep their mouths shut.

“We” don’t want them released. We want them living out the next 10 years of their stupid lives in a Chinese gulag.

Americans love it when criminals apologize. But this is China. It’s gonna take some serious bribery.

Yeah, about one out of every five members of the human race. LOL!

Well, nobody ever said Mr. Peanut Butter Diet was all that bright. Yeah, Bill, some of us remember you going through a season looking like an extremely tall concentration camp escapee.

This is a form of Liberal “Apology” that generalizes and diffuses, and thus spreads the guilt around. It is such a dereliction of responsibility, and has become the norm.

Oh, yes, they would, and probably already have. If they would do it there, they would do it here.

If these thugs shoplifted, I hole China cuts their balls off.

I also hope China cuts Bill’s balls off, just for fun.

They have embarrassed the country and their team.
I’ll bet they have stolen merchandise at home, and many, many times.
That’s why it came so easily to them just now.

Now would be a good time to kneel, and show a little humility.

“It’s gonna take some serious bribery.”

I think we are beyond that now.

The Chinese people are keenly aware of the story and what they would face in similar circumstances.

Initial remarks from the father and players were not conciliatory. That’s all in the public domain now.

There is damming surveillance video and the value of the items from one store alone put the sentencing into the 1-2 year range.

If it hadn’t gone public, money would have worked IMHO having lived there for 3 years.

BS!

Ghetto trash playing sports in college and in the pro ranks feel totally entitled and steal things at home (the USA) all the time. They are just too stupid to understand that China is not the USA or another PC country and now face possible serious consequences.

He’s just trying to be all inclusive.
Unfortunately he has left out all of those yet to be discovered races of beings throughout the galaxy.

Is Bill trying to say the Chinese are not part of the human race, though?

Isn’t saying I apologize on behalf of the human race something you’d say to space aliens?

Hey, Bill. I didn’t do anything wrong. How about just apologizing for the thugs you sent over there.

Really?

I would wonder if it might not just be sort of a hobby with them.
