Corey Feldman's "Goonies" co-star Sean Astin is standing by his friend as Feldman comes forward with allegations of a Hollywood pedophile ring.
"Hopefully, this doesn't play out as a personal tabloid story," Astin told us at TBS's "Search Party" premiere at Public Hotel. "The fact is, real people all over the country are starting to have a conversation, and it can be very distracting if it distills down into some kind of typical [story]."
He added, "My only concern is [it] won't actually develop into the complex conversation that needs to happen. And if it doesn't, and it becomes about quickly pointing fingers and making accusations and the obvious stuff, I think it will be a missed opportunity."
Astin, who stars in "Stranger Things," released a statement on Monday, saying, "Corey Feldman communicated to me at some point, what some of his experiences were. I remember aching for him . . . Victims of sexual assault are speaking. Their bravery and willingness to subject their lives to scrutiny, of the most painful kind, should be supported . . . It is time for abusers to be stopped."

Wow. Just found out Astin was the son of Patty Duke. Learn something new all the time. Nice to see more voices speaking out on this.
I wonder why more Hollywood men are NOT speaking out about the abuse they received from women and fags in the movie business.
I think that Feldman is correct about Hollywood, and there would be more than one such ring of abusers.
Austin is one of my favorites.....and a lovely family man.

I had wondered that too until the rest of these stories started coming out. Look what happened to Weinsteins victims. He had Mossad agents going after them. He had an army of lawyers threatening them. They were threatened not just with the loss of their livelyhood but also everything they owned.

corry Feldman is one of the few child actors that was abused who spoke out about the abuse. the guy has been doing it for years and because of this his acting career basically died and he was presented as a drug addicted loon by Hollywood even after he went through recovery for his real drug addiction. if Sean Austin wants to do something more then capitalize on this as a public relations act he should behind the scenes try and get the guy some career opportunities in acting. I posted something simlar many times. It seems that male queers in homowood have more special rights than any of us imagined. One of those rights is to rape little boys. Check out Harvey Milk, he is a boy raper and an icon of the “Gay” community. Just one of many special rights that coprophiliacs possess.
The level of power of these abusers suggests to me that that would be very difficult. Wouldn’t it would require an area of the industry independent of the power of the abusers?
No, Sean, now is not the time. The time was back when you were first told. Your parents are John Astin and Patty Duke. Big shots in Hollywood with lots of power to take down these low life scum child abusers. Patty Duke likely knew up close and personal of these monsters. John Astin had to have known about casting couches and glad handed them. When you know but don't say anything, then you're part of the problem.

I have a relative that is a minor player in Hollywood and I have been told by my Aunt that most jobs are dependent on who you know and your work history Sean Astin has enough pull to get Cory a few jobs but its up to Corey Feldman after he gets that help . unfortunately I think all that Sean Astin is doing is public relations.
